I used to buy a cheaper cashew butter at Wal-Mart locally, but all the local stores stopped selling cashew butter. I always loved peanut butter, but developed a serious allergy. I've found cashew butter to be a good replacement. Better than hazelnut and almond. I haven't tried the others. Kevala Premium Natural Cashew Butter is all the flavor and texture I remember, just at a higher price than I used to pay. The biggest downside of cashew butter in general is it separates much more easily than peanut butter, but that's fixed with a simple stir. This jar does warn the product separates. Know that it's not just this one. It's something that happens with cashew butter. Note that this jar says to refrigerate after opening. No preservatives or added sodium or sugar. Awesome.

I love this cashew butter. I love that it is NON-GMO, and I love that it's made from just cashews (no sugar, no salt, no palm fruit oil!). It tastes a little sweet, as cashews do, but there's no sugar!

If you think it looks too runny or "oily", give it a chance.... you have to refrigerate it after opening it and, trust me, it gets thick after being in the fridge. You might even have to let it sit at room temperature to melt a little or it might be difficult to spread on bread. Assuming that's how you're eating it. I've had it on bread and it's delicious. But it's also good on apples, bananas, crackers, and in hot cereal. It's so tasty, it's good all by itself out of the jar.

Like the cashew butter. I ordered it again. There is a problem with the security of the packing. On the first order when I took the bubble wrap of the plastic seal came off too. I ate it anyway and it was good. On the second order the seal held, but I was able to unscrew it without unsealing it. You just need to improve that, especially now. The product is delicious and has the same consistency as peanut butter, probably due to the fact that it has no additives, which was why I bought it in the first place. I realize that my 3-star review is lower than any other reviewer's rating, but I will explain my reasons.

To begin with, let me say that I was very impressed by the quality of Kevala's Sesame Seeds so decided to try another of their products.

The first impression of this cashew butter is that it is a little bitter. I waited until getting to the bottom of the jar before saying more. The bitter taste did not really dissipate. Rather, it remained the primary sensory perception and the taste lingers for some time after ingesting.

I do often make my own cashew butter and cashew milk. This is very easy to do if you have a good blender, like a VitaMix. It takes a few minutes and you can season the butter to your preferences. I use some bamboo manna and black salt.

Now, the taste comparisons. The Kevala Cashew Butter is made with roasted cashews. Artisana Cashew Butter is made with raw cashews and, in my opinion, tastes much, much better. Neither have any other ingredients listed on the label. The textures are quite similar, smooth and creamy, quite thick, but there is some oil separation with the Artisana brand and I suspect this is a clue to freshness and perhaps also taste. The color of the Artisana Cashew Butter is just a bit lighter than the Kevala brand.

In my opinion, the taste of the Artisana Cashew Butter is much nicer. It tastes clean and sweet and wholesome. I will not be buying more of the Kevala Cashew Butter because it falls short of my desire for a healthy alternative to peanut butter.

Just got this order and was able to remove the lid so easily I can't be sure the safety seal was fastened on properly. I also don't see any way to contact the seller and report this issue. Consuming this product under the circumstances is not worth the risk. I will not order from this seller again until I hear from this that this is resolved.

I bought this as an experiment/treat for myself because I love cashews. I was not disappointed! This is addictive and delicious and I'm split between sharing with people so that they, too, get addicted and hogging it all for myself. It is the only thing that I have ever bought where my first reaction was to write a review to say how happy I am.

It does need to be stirred (but all natural nut butters do) and storing it in the fridge should mean it doesn't need to be stirred very often. The taste is rich and creamy and it's nice looking too (I've bought sunflower seed butter which looks gross even though it tastes pretty good). I also really like the sturdy glass jar which was packaged in bubble-wrap so it was safe for delivery.

Anyway, if you can afford it, I totally suggest buying this product!
