I don't remember where I heard about this stuff but it's phenomenal. If you want a little change from Hellman's or whatever you use it's perfect. It's slightly sweeter (but barely, don't let this dissuade you) than ordinary mayo and is the perfect change of pace. I hope they get popular enough to where you can find it IRL more often - I've only been able to order it.

This mayonnaise is better than your typical Hellman's mayo, however it doesn't compare at all to the original product which is made and imported from Japan.

This mayo shares a similar acidic flavor profile with the original product however, it has a similar taste with that of Hellman's Mayo (due to the use of soybean oil). The texture of this mayo is better than than Hellman's as well as its more creamy. The mayo is more savory than Hellman's but is less savory than the Japanese version due to the absence of MSG and the addition of sugar. While it's better than Hellman's mayo, its subpar when compared to its Japanese counterpart.

If you enjoy a more creamy and savory/acidic Helllman's mayo than this mayo is for you. If you're buying this as a replacement for its Japanese counterpart, avoid it at all cost.

I am a highly advanced semi-pro Home and Personal Chef. I take all of my kitchen items, tools, utensils, knives, serving items and other accessories very seriously and when I test and review these items, I am highly critical and nitpicky in evaluating. One of my specialties is Japanese foods and regular American Mayonnaise just doesn't cut it for authentic Japanese cuisine.

I have been using Kewpie brand Japanese Mayonnaise for many years, and am thankful that I only have to go to Amazon to purchase and resupply. This 3-pack deal is the best I've seen yet, and makes the mayo very inexpensive compared to single unit purchase.

Kewpie Mayonnaise has a more umami flavoiing and tartness than Western Mayonnaise. The only caveat is that people who are sensitive to MSG (monosodium glutamate) may want to avoid it. Otherwise it is essential for authentically tasting Japanese recipes...like Japanese potato salad.

SInce this is a separate Amazon offering, I am happy to once again rate this product with a very HIGH FIVE STARS and my thanks to Amazon for carrying this necessary product! Highly recommended and good for trying with non-Japanese foods as well! Bon Appetit!
