Also the buttons are especially bad and will fall out of their rubber waterguard gasket if you don't keep them on the bottom side when you take it apart to check or replace the battery.
Then I bought one from NorthCoast directly for $30 each and it worked fine. The NC brand has what appears to be an identical PC board as the OEM Toyota one I have, whereas this KeyLossOption one is completely different. See attached photo. I say it's crap but it has good reviews so it may or may not work for you, I tried 3 of them and no luck.
(Note: I actually bought the 2003 one from NorthCoast as it matched my FCC number HYQ12BAN, whereas the 2004 was a newer model.)
one programmed easily, the other took three attempts.
after using them for a few days, hitting the unlock button set off the panic alarm.
One has to be hit six or seven times within twenty feet of the car to unlock just the driver's door.
One of them had to be smashed in the middle of the night with a rock because it kept setting off the panic alarm without being touched (sitting on a shelf) WHILE WE WERE AT A STATE CAMPSITE!!!! other campers were not happy with me until I smashed this piece of junk into oblivion. I cannot believe that Amazon carries this, and I am sad that I cannot return them (or at least the one I was not forced to destroy). Wasted $45.
