First off, this remote was shipped quite rapidly. I received it only three days after placing the order.
Out of the box it has a light, but solid feel. The plastic feels tight and does not flex or make noises. It seems like it'll be able to stand up to some wear and tear.
I plugged the receiver into the 32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium box that I built, and it was instantly recognized and ready to use. Thanks to the RF receiver, the range on this is great. I have the receiver plugged in behind my computer and I can point the remote away from the computer and still have reception.
The functions of the remote seem pretty standard for a Windows Media Center Device. One feature I didn't notice before purchasing is that it has a button that can put the computer in and out of standby. Another cool thing I've discovered is that this remote has some limited functionality with iTunes. Stop, play, forward, reverse, and pause all work. The volume on the iTunes volume slider will not change by pushing the volume controls, though.
I'm very happy with this product and would definitely recommend to people looking for a quality remote.

I've used other MCE remotes, and this one has a better key layout with somewhat larger buttons than some others--compare to Rosewill's similarly priced RHRC-11001, for example. If you're using for Windows Media Center on a PC (what it was designed for), installation is dead-simple: just plug it in and you're done. The RF is convenient, as you don't have to point the remote directly at your PC, but be aware that if you install the USB receiver in a rear port on your case that range will likely be somewhat limited due to the metal of the case interfering with the signal. I purchased a USB extender (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QES0MKA/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0) and mounted the receiver inside my case near the front in an empty 5.25" drive bay and it works just fine there. Check around Amazon's marketplace for different buyers: there seems to be quite a wide range of prices between new/used/refurbished and various sellers as well... could save you some money.

I had high hopes for this remote, i needed a RF remote since the xbox and mediacenter use some of the same IR codes, they would interfere. But this remote simply fails and the most basic of levels. the buttons dont work unless pressed excessively hard, and then they double or triple press. there is simply no way to press a button once. sad to say this remote is going right back on the shelf with my old cable box.

pros:
good range
RF doesnt interfere with xbox or mediacenter extenders.

cons:
buttons have to be pressed extremely hard
buttons double send commands!!!!!!!
very cheap feel to remote
rf dongle MUST be on front of Mediacenter to work

Sometimes I have to hit a key twice before it registers. I just don't get the same positive response that a good IR remote gives. This may simply be RF interference. I do have a lot of electronic devices around the computer. Maybe putting the receiver on a usb extension would help.

Bought this item for my ZOTAC/XBMC setup, at first it was frustrating because the remote for windows cannot close out of stuff and it is kind of hard to control. Not to mention the media center buttons got annoying. After 5 minutes of Googling found the XBMC customization to take full control of the remote and it is going great ever since.

For the price, this is a great remote. I have not found out how to control my TV with it, however, given my TV is line of sight and not RF. But that is fine as I am used to having 2 remotes. It would just be nice if it worked for the TV as well.

This is the 2nd one of these that I bought. It works with Windows 7 even though the description only covers Vista. I use it with Windows Media Center. Since it is RF, line of sight is not needed. For me, it even works through a single wall, so the PC does not need to be in the same room as the TV. Installation is simple -- just plug in the USB receiver to the PC - no software to install.

The range isn't too good. It could be because it uses the very crowded 2.4GHz band. Sometimes when I press a button it sends the command twice. But if you ask me if I would buy it again... I would probably say yes since there are no other options that I could find.

Works perfect with my Windows 7 running Windows Media Center. Also with it with XBMC and works perfect. RF is so nice... I wish all my remotes were RF. It did have a bit of trouble receiving the signal through a few walls and when it was inside my desk in a cabinet... moved the sensor out of the desk with a 2 foot USB cable handing the sensor on top of the desk...now works perfect.
