Boy rescues girl from abusive foster dad, somehow goes to jail for rescuing her (unexplained), girl goes into hiding because of threats, boy is released from jail early because of a "dirty judge" (also unexplained), tracks down the girl and they basically stare at each other and have awkward conversations until they are in love. Throw in constant (and over-done) panic attacks for the heroine, absolutely unhinged roommate/best friend, constant cat fights, lots of drinking, and some weird relationship with a past cheating ex-boyfriend, and you basically have the book.
I think it was a great start to a wonderful book, but the planning of the book was not done very well for my opinion.
Overall I enjoyed the characters and I enjoyed how the author has a tendency to write books that have series content. It wasn't a sappy romance I try to stay away from on a daily basis since 2014.
As a whole the book could have been better.

Where do I begin I have so many mixed feelings about Kian I had to sleep on it anyhow.. I did read this book in 1 day so it is definitely a must read I couldn't put it down the storyline was unique and the characters where loveable I could feel the main characters chemistry however for ME I am in lust with this book I just needed a little more the back story while definitely intriguing and different than most YA had some splotches and I just needed just a little more
Kian has just been released from jail after killing Jordan's step-father. Jordan has been hiding in college as Jo. Now that Kian is free but may not stay that way her life becomes so much more complicated. Her FBI agent /surrogate father has warned he to be more careful, to avoid Kian at all costs. Easier said than done when Kian finds her immediately. Then there's the problem of her attraction to him. Kian is the first character that I didn't know what to think about. He's beyond hot and sexy, he has a magnetic bad boy draw, but I wasn't sure if he could be trusted. I couldn't tell if he was being upfront or if Jo needed to run for safety. His intentions weren't clear for the longest time, maybe because they deviated from the public's interests and his family's interests.
Kian turned out to be a complicated character. He was so convinced that he is bad, possibly evil. He doesn't understand that he did a bad thing for the right reason. He was a young man full of anger, he snapped when he saw a truly bad person torturing the one person he felt was good. He acted; he had to save the girl he felt connected to. He was saving her and his sister. He was taking control in the world where his father controlled everything. He was never bad. No one 100% bad would take the steps to protect a weaker human like he did. He acted time and time again to keep Jordan safe, happy. Watching Kian and Jordan come together, start to heal, and find happiness made for a good read.
