But that aside, here is the truth about this book: There are no captions or photo editing in this book to tell you how to think or feel about Kibera. It is just a collection of simple photographic shots of Kibera as taken by those who live there. This sort of naked perspective is the next best thing to going there yourself.
At the end of the book you find a picture of the photographer for each shot accompanied by a short, self-written biography. These biographies tell a story of their own-- painting a picture of the diverse personalities of young adults in Kibera.
There is also a sincere and uplifting introduction by the creators/organizers of the book.
