The Mini Kick is the quality choice in children's scooters. What makes the Mini unique is its quality construction and 'lean-and-steer' design, which allows children to use their body weight to control the steering, giving them the feeling of 'surfing' the sidewalk, as they curve from right to left, almost like a skateboard. The lean-and-steer adds an element of stability and fun, great for learning balance and coordination. The Mini's 3 wheels make it easy for even the youngest kids to ride. The youngest kids will normally start riding in a straight line but learn quite quickly, almost intuitively, to gently lean, in order to steer. The older kids (ages 4 and 5) become very proficient, curving right and left as they 'surf' the sidewalk. The rear brake adds to the safety and fun. The Mini can be ridden inside while learning (or waiting for Spring) as the Italian made wheels are non marking. Weight limit 44lbs.

My wife and I bought it for our three year old son who happens to be quite athletic, and he rides it like it's an extension of his body. In no time did it take him to learn how to ride it; he can even do some cute little tricks with it already, like sitting down on the board while scooting down a hill or wrapping his leg around the handle while coasting along.
And all this is possible because of the fact that this scooter has THREE wheels which creates a wonderfully stable platform.
It also has a nifty little break system on the back wheel for slowing down on hills. KUDOS!! Just by pushing down on the rear "fender", it then mashes down onto the wheel which in turn slows you down.
Of course, the best feature of the mini kick is its steering system; our three year old just leans left or right using the handle and the wheels tilt and turn in that direction. The steering is spring-loaded and after turning, the scooter naturally returns to the straight forward position. It's just simply the best system for little kids. LEAN, TURN, THEN SPRING BACK TO STRAIGHT POSITION. Brilliant!
If I remember correctly, the scooter came assembled and the only final assembly needed by us was to slip the quick-install handle into the scooter's platform. The handle basically can be unhooked from the platform in seconds; this is great, like for instance, when you have to store both parts easily in a baby stroller -- another brilliant bit of engineering !!!
You will see in the video that he single handedly grabs the scooter and picks up (0:45), its so light, it has the best rolling due to minimum rolling resistance of all scooters, your kid will fly past all others and don't have to push it more often and with toddlers thats a big deal, the kid will glide on it and enjoy the wind on his face and hair (he didn't want to get his hair cut for this reason) and its easily manageable to turn and being light the kid can bring it to a stop when required by using the brake of just stepping out and lifting it. My son enjoyed it so much and he would ride his scooter for long distances and still not complain of being tired or want to sit in the stroller..... I have been to many places and he had fun everywhere he would go (at buckingham fountains http://youtu.be/cDZs8qCeia0 ).
Other scooters have a low clearance than this one as one of his friend has it and when you come down or go up the curb the bottom scratches and the rider will loose balance, will have to stop or slow down, the micro doesn't do that and you can go up or down the curb easily without scratching the bottom. I have replaced the brakes and rear wheels and its very easy to do that. Very sturdy and fun to ride.
The first few days, he had to work a lot on going straight as he learned how to use his weight to steer. Within a week, he was flying up and down the sidewalk and steering / braking like a champ. Helmets are a necessity, while the scooter is very safe and stable, once they master it they really can pick up speed!
Good size range - my very petite 3 year old can handle it, his 5 year old brother rides the same size scooter as well
Quality - apart from some very minor fading, the two year old scooter is in the same great condition as the new one. They get heavy use, stay on the porch, and look great!
Play value - The boys ride these daily, my oldest has used his for two years so far. Really, what toy lasts for 2 years anymore?
Compared to other scooters, they're pricey. The quality justifies the cost though, in my experience.
Doesn't fold - It would be nice to be able to toss these in a suitcase, but that's a rare need for us. Compared to other scooters that do fold, this is a much better quality.
