Quality Control Needed

It shipped really fast, but I was pretty disappointed with the quality. The setup instructions were very easy, but as soon as I took it out of the box I noticed a number of chips and scrapes on the ship and even smudges and smears on the flag. I couldn't wait for another one so I went to the craft store for some touch up supplies. I loved that the chest lights up, but it's so cheap that opening the chest feels like it will snap the plastic pieces in back so I know it won't last 5 minutes with the kids. For the quality they are sending out I'd say this is worth spending $30 not $50. There are a number of other ships out there with the same price tag with much better quality.

A Gift Children Will Enjoy For A Long Time

This product is just what I expected it to be. I bought it for my grandchildren for Christmas as they are very into pirates since watching Peter Pan! Some buyers said the found it difficult to assemble, but I'm 69 years old and was able to assemble it on my own. I discovered a few things you might find helpful when assembling this. First, pay close attention to ALL the details in the drawings in the directions. For example,, when putting together the mast notice that the middle stick, has two sets of pegs and the ones closer to the outer edge of the stick need to be facing upward, otherwise the bottom skeleton flag won't be able to properly attach. Also, notice that most pieces are lettered, so make sure have the pieces you need. Secondly, make sure your using the recommended screw size. I found it helpful to leave the screws in the packaging they came in and remove them as needed. Because the drawings are black and white its difficult to know what side should be on the upper side when screwing the pieces together. I discovered it's the painted side. The most valuable advice I can give you is that when attaching one large section to another screw each screw in half way, so you have some wiggle room to get the pieces flush with each other and then go back and gradually tighten all of them completely.
