Overall, doll house is cheaply made. I wasn’t looking for an heirloom, but I’m pretty sure my older 3 will destroy it through normal use before my youngest can appreciate it which is a disappointment. I can’t believe that Amazon thought this was worthy of the Kid’s Holiday Gift Guide.
To add further annoyance, getting a missing or damaged part replaced from KidKraft is next to impossible. The box arrived undamaged but a large panel within the box had a huge gouge (not sure if it was poorly packaged or there is a quality control issue). KidKraft’s parts request website requires you have a specific model and batch number (only available on your assembly instructions) to submit your request. And the website does not work on mobile devices, Safari, or Chrome browsers. The website doesn’t tell you this until after you have entered all of the required information - just to make things more annoying.
KidKraft customer support told me I had to install a compatible browser on my computer to submit the request. They would not issue the part request on my behalf even when I provided them with the needed information.
The overall experience was such that I will not be purchasing another KidKraft item for our household again.
The third drawback has to do with the dancing rooftop. The circuit board is poorly assembled and the rotating top gets stuck easily. I pushed the button to start the spinning and music and it instantly got stuck and stopped working. I tried moving the rotating part backwards and forwards and that is what broke the part. Unfortunately that part is out of stock on the KidKraft website so I was unable to order a replacement. Below I will walk you through the steps on what I did to fix it and tools you may need. (My problem was a ripped wire)
Tools you may need:
• Phillips Screw Driver (regular and a small one)
• Mini Hot Glue Gun
• Tape
• Vaseline and Q-Tips
Instructions:
1. Remove the blue front castle pieces that are on the left and right side of the rooftop.
2. Unscrew the 4 corner screws.
3. Unscrew the back right screw.
4. Remove the pink roating doll holders and then remove the rooftop and set it with the button facing down on the floor.
5. Unscrew the six screws on the underside of the rooftop.
6. On the circuit board the red wire ripped from it's place. I had to reconnect the wires and use a hot glue gun to hold them in place and used tape to hold wire in place.
7. To fix the rotating top from getting stuck I used a Q-Tip and Vaseline to apply the Vaseline in between the white square and in between the grooves on the gears of the underside of the rooftop.
8. Reassemble and turn on and enjoy!

Then when I finally got the missing part after reaching out through their parts website, I found out the dancing "roof" had some quality issues as well and was stuck (only music). I'll need to reach out again...
Overall it's very plasticky and don't find it study at all (as some other comments say). Not worth the money they charge for this thing if you ask me. Didn't had much of a problem building this thing, because I'm used to building stuff, but I agree with many of the complaints I see on other reviews.
The fact that it comes with a missing part instructions in front of the manual tells me they have many part issues and put the quality control on the customers end... expecting customers to have to complain for their weak service.
Extremely disappointed! I hate this castle. Looking at the damn thing makes me angry now.

What makes this more frustrating is that the handle to the castle was damaged and when I called for a replacement item I was told it is out of stock and they can’t comment on when they can ship me a replacement one. Way to stand behind your product.
