Who knew there could be so many screws in one box?? The box arrived promptly and was deceivingly small, leading me to think this might be a simple project. WRONG! It was a long night before Christmas. There were more screws than I ever believed possible. It took us about 2 1/2-3 hrs to assemble the kitchen. That being said, it is really nice and my child loves it. It had lots of nice touches and looks very contemporary. Overall a great kitchen, but it does take quite a bit of work to assemble.

This kitchen is awesome! I was a little worried about it being big enough so that my twins could play at it together and it turns out its perfect for the two of them. They are almost 3 years old and I find that the kitchen is the most used "toy" not only is it great because of it's realistic features but it also stores all their play food. We only bought the Melissa and Doug playfood sets so I can't speak for other brands but as far as melissa and doug: the "oven" can fit the Cookie playset cookie sheet. It has a small spot under the "washer" that is perfect for the toy canned goods and the fridge and freeezer have more than enough room for 3-4 food playsets! Very happy with our purchase!

I (grammy) put this together! It's a little intimidating at first when that thin, heavy box arrives and you know you're putting together a large kitchen! Soooo many pieces, but if you lay them all out, it's not too bad. I only needed some help holding the doors for the refrigerator and freezer while screwing them on. Everything was clearly marked! Excellent job, KidKraft. We have 3 grandchildren and this has been a hit every time they come to grammy's house. Big enough for 2 toddlers to play together. Knobs "click" when turned. It would be fun if there were some way to make some beeping noises...microwave? washer? I would think KidKraft could incorporate a few beeps with battery operated control??
One piece was damaged when it arrived and KidKraft quickly replaced the piece. Don't be afraid to call them for any assistance. They have a helpful and prompt customer service department.
I can't say enough good things about this toy. It will be used for years by all our present and future grand children.

Incredibly cute and my 2yo loves it. It is the perfect size for her. It seems like it's pretty sturdy and will hold up for awhile. I wish that the "buttons" were actually buttons and some of the doors are a bit tough for my toddler to open.

However... this took 8 man hours to build!! EIGHT!!! My husband and I each are relatively handy and intelligent, and it took us 4 hours each to build it. After building this thing, I now feel confident that I could completely renovate my own kitchen with no problem.

Yes, this kitchen set did take a while for my husband to put together Christmas Eve night. It was worth it. Both my five year old girl and my two year old boy love playing with this kitchen. They "make" tea and snacks for us every day. It is a very high quality set, too. My five year old sits up on the counter with no trouble at all. One of the best toy purchases we've ever made.

I will update my review once we receive this, but I wanted to let people know that you can get this for a lot less via Costco (you don't have to be a member to purchase this- if you are a member, you'll save $7) . Costco includes the 105-piece food set (around $28 on Amazon) besides the 4-pieces it already comes with (a pot, pan and two spatulas).

I research (to death) anything I purchase for my child that's over $50. I wanted something my child can grow with and play with another child or sibling. I had considered the Uptown kitchen, but decided against it because: I wasn't convinced that (a) it was big enough for two kids to play with at one time, (b) it had no counter space (b) to get all the corner unit offered, with the Uptown I'd have to separately purchase the laundry unit for more money (c) because of it's design I'd have to anchor the Uptown to a wall (and same with the laundry unit). The corner unit seemed more stable without having to drill holes in our walls and we could move this toy from room to room as needed (without anchoring it). We also didn't want to buy a typical plastic unit. They just seem cheap to me- the ones I've seen in person look awful and we didn't want more junky-looking kid toys in our house.

I will update this review once we put the unit together. But all-in-all, this unit was the best I could find in all my research regarding play kitchens for kids.

The quality of this is great and I did a lot of research to find the perfect kitchen. As a bonus the pans and utensils are also included with this kitchen (which I didn't know). The oven and microwave fit the popular wooden Melissa and Doug food sets and cookie sheet. It does take a long time to put together, but it was very easy and the instructions were good. The storage space is also great with this kitchen. My kids (3 and 5) love it.

My youngest son loves to be in the kitchen so we decided to get him a kitchen set for his birthday but did not realize how difficult it would be to find a kitchen that was gender neutral. Apparently most toy companies don't think boys belong in the kitchen. We were so happy we found this kitchen by KidKraft because my boys LOVE IT! Their friends (boys and girls alike) who come over to play also enjoy playing in it because it is so realistic.
I am also highly impressed by the quality of this product. It is very sturdy and very solid. The instructions were easy to follow and took me about an hour to assemble.
