Carbon monoxide (CO), also known as the "silent killer" because it's odorless, tasteless, and invisible, is the leading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in North America. Additionally, every year, 70 percent of all home-fire deaths occur in homes with no alarms or no working alarms, while nearly one quarter of smoke alarms in reported fires are not working. Both the KN-COB-B CO Alarm and the i9060 Smoke Alarm provide lifesaving warnings to allow you to get out of the house before you are exposed to dangerous levels of CO, or trapped by fire or smoke. They also feature user-friendly designs that make it simple to ensure everything is functioning properly. No home should be without them.
CO Alarm Utilizes Advanced Technology to Detect CO Levels
The Kidde KN-COB-B battery-operated carbon monoxide alarm utilizes sophisticated electronic components to protect you and your family from the dangers of carbon monoxide. Suitable for all living spaces and featuring a seven-year life, this alarm includes a snap-on cover that gives immediate access to the batteries for fast changes. Also that the battery lockout system makes it difficult to close the cover without the batteries being installed correctly, giving you peace of mind that the unit is working properly.
Flashing LEDs and Alarm
The KN-COB-B provides continual monitoring of CO levels in your home. Its green LED will flash every 30 seconds to show that it's functioning properly. Should it detect elevated CO levels, its red LED will pulse, and a clearly audible alarm pattern will sound until the device is reset or the CO is eliminated. In addition, a test/reset button allows you to test that the alarm is functioning properly.
Ionization Sensor Technology
Powered by a 9-volt battery, the i9060 is a stand-alone smoke alarm with an ionization sensor. Ionization sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles (associated with fast flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. Photoelectric sensing alarms may detect visible fire particles (associated with slow smoldering fires) sooner than ionization alarms. Kidde strongly recommends that both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to help insure maximum detection of the various types of fires that can occur within the home.
The i9060 also offers the convenience of a hush feature that temporarily silences nuisance alarms--a great feature for kitchen alarms.
Compliancy and Warranty Information
These Kidde alarms are both UL-listed. The KN-COB-B Alarm backed by a five-year limited warranty, and the i9060 Smoke Alarm is backed by a 10-year limited warranty.

From the Manufacturer
The leading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in North America, Carbon Monoxide is odorless, tasteless and invisible. It is a silent killer. Kidde CO alarms include the most accurate sensing technology available, the patented Nighthawk electrochemical sensor. This Kidde Carbon Monoxide Alarm and Smoke Alarm Value Pack contains one Kidde 9CO5 Carbon Monoxide Alarm and one Kidde 440375 Smoke Alarm. The battery operated carbon monoxide alarm is able to provide continuous monitoring of CO levels, even during power outages. The unit's snap-open cover makes it easy to take out old batteries, but is difficult to close if you forget to install new batteries. For peace of mind, a test/reset button allows you to test that the alarm is functioning properly. The smoke alarm is a battery operated, stand-alone alarm with an ionization sensor. The smoke alarm is powered by a 9V battery and offers a Hush feature that temporarily silences nuisance alarms. Install UL listed smoke alarms on every floor of your home, in hallways, inside bedrooms and outside of sleeping areas. Replace smoke alarms every 10 years. Ionization sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles (associated with fast flaming fires) sooner than Photoelectric alarms. Studies show both types will effectively detect either type of fire. For optimal protection, install both smoke alarm technologies in your home.
Top Customer Reviews
This is one of those items you assume works because it doesn't go off and sounds when tested.
The unit was still on the original batteries which, after testing, showed were still well charged but switched the out just in case. No change, still getting the dreaded 30 second beep after initial power-up which the label clearly states "After seven years from initial power up, this unit will 'chirp' every 30 seconds to indicate that it is time to replace the alarm. REPLACE IMMEDIATELY! IT WILL NOT DETECT CO IN THIS CONDITION!"
If this trend keeps up we will buying a unit every 15 months which is no where near the SEVEN years indicated on the label.
Kidde we would happily pay a few dollars extra for a unit from a country of origin where quality still reigns.
Smoke Alarm Review
This unit is still passing it's tests and has been 'used' a few times due to young, aspiring chefs going for well done :)
