I really was seeking the old Playskool "Dressy Bessy" (and Dapper Dan, remember them?) for my little one yr old girl for her birthday, but I only found a few imitations. This one was the closest to looking like a "normal" doll, and her expression is sweet. The ONLY thing I really dislike is that her shoes, etc actually come off....so your child can LOSE them in your house, HA....Other than that, it is a great toy and a good way for your toddler to learn how we button, snap, velcro, etc. I like the doll!

I got this well before my girl was developmentally ready so she has plenty of time to work on it. She has been most drawn to the button, snap, and zipper so far. Things I wish were a little different on this doll: wish the socks could come off so she could practice that (I know then they could get lost). Wish the snap wasn't so hard to do. I find it a challenge so I'm not sure she'll ever be able to do it. Wish the belt actually had holes and a buckle. There is an abundance of velcro: one shoe, the bracelet, and the back of the dress. Maybe they could have made 1 or 2 of those things something else for more.variety of learning tools. I'm not sure any doll would meet all of those things so all in all I'm happy with the purchase.

Our daughter loves this doll, but I wish it had more types of closures. The belt doesn't actually have a buckle. The dolls with more snaps and things are more expensive, but I think it's worth it if you are really trying to teach a child to get dressed.

My granddaughter loves this doll. She plays with it and doesn't even realize that she's learning as she plays. It is a good educational toy.

Emily's features include a Velcro on one shoulder, and a button on the other shoulder of the dress, loop belt on waist of the dress, Velcro back closure, Velcro closure shoe, Velcro closure wrap around watch, lace up sneaker, and a zippered purse. Unlike other dress me dolls on the market, both Emily's dress and purse are removable. The shoes do not come off, so you don’t have to worry about your daughter losing them. We also found Emily to be super soft , making her a great cuddle toy for bedtime or nap time.

My daughter is able to pull up zippers by herself and she is able to do up Velcro without assistant, therefore these features on Emily posed no difficulty. She was also able to remove Emily's dress all by herself. She has yet to master the belt loop, button or shoe lace and she has difficult putting the dress back on, but those features will come the more she plays with Emily. The shoelace is a bit advanced for her at this stage, but will serve as a wonderful teaching aide when I begin to teach her how to tie her own shoes.

I love that everything is sturdily attached, and Emily is holding up very well to play. The button is still secure, which is the one piece I was worried would fail! The button whole needed to be stretched a bit, so putting the button through the hole did not pose such a challenge.

Bought it for my grand-baby. I was looking for the Dressy Bessy like my daughter had, & gave up looking when I discovered collectors dolls are only available on-line for outrageous prices. I bought Emily still wishing for good old Bessy. Here is a case where newer is really better. Emily is so cute, well made, and colorful. Everybody loves her. Since my daughter has twins, I needed a " dressy" doll for the boy twin. Of course Dapper Dan was not to be found, so I ordered the Elmo dressy doll. He is wonderful too ! Floppy, brightly colored, soft. Both dolls have lots of fasteners for little fingers to practice on.
