Good Album. If you like your indie rock a little more on the poppy side, you should give this a listen. Very curious how the band sounds live, will be seeing them tonight (11/10/12) in Louisville, Ky at Uncle Slaytons. This band has a lot of promise and would like to see how they mature as musicians.

UPDATE: Go see this band live. As the poster above me stated they do put on one hell of a live show. The show lasted for an hour (they only have one album out and 2 eps) and played like it was their last show. Everyone of them including the very cute sister of the lead singer are excellent musicians that have a great voice to back up their strong sound.

These guys put on one of the best shows I've every seen. They played at the Jackalope brewery in Nashville and brought the house down. Their energy and love for their craft come though in this album. No recording will beat the effect of seeing a band live, but this album comes close, and does a good job of representing their sound. Not to mention that it's only 5$ for Nov 2012, can't beat that with a stick. Seriously, don't beat it with a stick. You'll only hurt yourself ;)

Stumbled onto this one poking around on Amazon. Have had it on my iPod for weeks now. Liked it initially, continue to like it even more with additional plays. The name of the group and the title of the album, to me, disguise the quality of the music. Definitely a band to watch.

Heard "Heartbeat" played on radio, and I liked it! Like songs with real singers and musicians, not micro-processor (fake) sound, something to admire! Enjoyed their web site with a dated Polaroid (like) color photo banner. Liked the album cover, reminded me a bit of one by ('60's) It's A Beautiful Day. Sorry, I'm showing my age! :-) Anyway - Recommended!

Wow! I must say I was blown away by the incredible talent of Kopecky Family Band. I saw them in Chattanooga when they opened up for Switchfoot. Each band member plays a plethera of instruments, even some that are not your ordinary "instrument." The songs are great- great energy, creative lyrics, and a lot of passion! These guys are great and I look forward to hearing more music from them!

Every tune is very good....my boyfriend was interested in this band after he heard one of their tunes on the radio, so I bought this CD. Every tune is listenable. My BF likes alternate music like Fleet Foxes, My Morning Jacket, Avid Brothers, etc., actually one of tunes reminds me of Fleet Foxes. We are really enjoying this CD.

I'm mostly astonished that this band, whose talent far surpasses your typical prepackaged pop group, still hasn't found a bigger audience. They are so much more than just another American Indie-Rock band. Kelsey and Gabe's voices, ever in perfect synchronicity, are only rivaled by the incredible smorgasbord of musical talent that includes the rest of the band: Steven, David, Marcus, and Corey. If you think they sound like anyone other than Kopecky, well you're not listening close enough. In my honest opinion, the reason mainstream America doesn't get Kopecky? They don't conform to the 'sex sells' mentality of today's music industry. Kopecky, keep your heads held high! You are the purest form of musical genius!

Indie rock with a dash of doo-wop and a sprinkle of surf guitar...sounds weird, but Kopecky Family Band makes it work. Don't misunderstand--the other influences are barely noticeable when you listen to Kids Raising Kids, but they are present. This is no surprise, as the band members come from all over: Denver, South Carolina, North Carolina, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Minneapolis, and the Philippines. The band was formed when they all met in college, and the resulting album displays the beauty of all those influences meshed together.

The highlights of this album are "Heartbeat," "She Is The One," and "My Way," which features an off-beat vocal arrangement. It catches the listener off-guard the first time, but gets better with each additional spin. Other songs are more mainstream indie, and it is evident the Kopecky Family Band was a good fit to co-headline a tour with The Lumineers last year (before they hit it big). Is this the year that KFB gets attention from commercial radio?
