I picked this up for my 8 and 10 year old daughters as a filler for Just Dance 2, bad mistake. Don't be fooled not all dance games are the same. The controls are unresponsive, the multiplayer doesn't allow for two charters to be selected so you only see one dancer on screen and it has no 4 player mode. Sadly the tracks are limited to only 24, less then Just Dance, and obviously they're sung by kids and not the real artist, which may be a problem if your children (or Child) are use to hearing the actual song like in Just Dance. Graphically, even for the Wii, the game lacks and hurt my eyes after just 20 minutes. My daughters played for about half an hour before they asked for Just Dance again. Do yourself a favor wait for Just Dance 2, or pick up the first part if you haven't already.

My kids generally have little interest in the Wii. They will try a game play for a short period of time then return to a game of Barbie or coloring!

However, as they both like music and dancing, and are fans of some of the artists whose songs are featured in this game, I decided to sell my Disney Dance revolution which they could not care less about and replace it with this! It was a good move!

I noticed a lot of reviews noted that it was similar to the just Dance series - I have not tried this so cannot compare, however my main goal was to get a fun game that my kids would like and this particular format resonated with them in terms of tracks and ease of play.

The first thing that struck me was the fact that is was easier for younger children - granted we started with some of the easier dances, but some other games on the market which require kids to follow along may be too fast or complex for younger kids and kids will get frustrated when they cannot follow along or see some success. My 7 year old was able to dance along and readily score points as she mastered some of the moves. It was simple to understand and the graphics provides a good guide as to what move to do!

Also, another important factor - the game and the Wii remote pair well together and the game picks up on the remote action. Nothing is more annoying when you are moving correctly but there is a disconnect between the game and the remote - this was not a factor at all in this game.

The songs are fun and mostly contemporary - Thriller of course is a little more dated, but has the fun theme dance and is such a classic that even my toddler recognized it and played along. The songs have been adapted to make them age appropriate.

Another very fun dance game for the wii. My 12 and 13 year old like the game, although they like just dance better as it is geared towards older kids in their opinion. I think this game is just as fun as just dance, however.

It is great to have current popular songs that we all can love and not have to worry about language as it is a cleaned up version of the song.

I would highly recommend this for anyone with kids 3-10. And, my kids, even as teens/preteens like it and will play it--so it isn't a loss there, they just prefer just dance.

This game is basic enough that you do not already have to be a dancer or good at dancing to follow and have a great time. Which i appreciate as i am rather uncoordinated!

If, like me, you love the We Cheer games and are yearning for a third game in the series, you might find Kidz Bop Dance Party surprisingly fun. After all, it and We Cheer fell off the same Namco family tree: this is just an American version of Happy Dance Collection [Japan Import], a Namco game that was only released in Japan. You could even call this "We Cheer Junior".

Gameplay is the same: pick a tune and dance along with the avatar while moving your remote along the tracks of arrows. This game only uses one remote, and the dancing isn't as complex as We Cheer's, but I still work up a sweat. The 24 songs are mainly pop tunes by the Kidz Bop singers; as cover versions go, you could do a lot worse (e.g. DDR Hottest Party) and kid tunes like Chicken Noodle Soup and Ice Cream & Guacamole, are catchy and fun for all ages.

This is a better party game than We Cheer because it offers a guest mode, so guests can jump right in without having to create a file. In Free Play mode, all the songs are unlocked from the beginning. The Challenge mode is nice and simple, as challenge modes in dance games ought to be. No epic battles or puzzle-solving, just progress along a trail of stars. You win points to spend on clothes and accessories in a virtual shop, again like We Cheer.

I thought it was overpriced when it came out, but for $20 or less it's a great deal. I'm spending as much time playing Kidz Bop as on Zumba, We Cheer, Michael Jackson or Just Dance 2, and more than on Dance on Broadway (that was a waste of money) or Wii DDR.

It's summer- my daughter is out of school, camp doesn't start for a few weeks, and it rains every day here in Southwest Florida. To keep my daughter from turning into a TV zombie, I thought I would get her a few active games for the Wii. She enjoyed Nickelodeon Dance for a long time but there aren't many songs on there and she's sort of into more popular music now, so she grew bored of it.

So I ordered both Kidz Bop Dance Party and Just Dance Kids 2 - she played both for a while and she *clearly* prefers Kidz Bop over Just Dance. While Just Dance is sort of videos of kids dancing in different costumes, Kidz Bop is fully animated, and you can "dress up" the character you choose, which is a *big* draw for my daughter. Also, the game seems a little more structured, as opposed to "pick a song and dance to it" which Just Dance seems to be.

We haven't played the games long enough to be able to give a good report on the responsiveness of one over the other, but my daughter is definitely more interested in Kidz Bop. There's just more for her to do in that game, and the points system (earning points by dancing which you can use to buy accessories and things) really motivates her. Plus, the songs are a little better and the dances are a little more modern.

I guess it's really up to the individual kids. But for my daughter, anything that has to do with personalization on the Wii is a huge draw for her.
