It seems like a good idea to get a ceramic egg tray since we raise our own eggs and there is only so long you can use a paper egg carton as your permanent tray before it falls apart (and we sell our eggs in the kind of egg carton that splits into two half dozen packs which is not great for reuse anyway because it's less stable). So, for those of you who are gathering and cleaning your own eggs I have some advice: A paper carton absorbs and evaporates the water left on your eggs- a ceramic container does not so they sit in a puddle. A paper carton is very gentle on the eggs when you take it in and out of the refrigerator- a ceramic container is hard and the eggs clank around. So far this is working for us ok (I dry off the eggs now) but if I place the egg in the carton too hard or jostle it too much on the way to or from the fridge I think I could get some cracking. The product is just fine, but perhaps not quite suited to my needs. It's probably not serving me any better than using a bowl to keep a small pile of eggs easily available.

I purchased this because I was tired of two things. #1. My eggs sticking to the packaging and breaking when I tried to remove them. #2. Thinking I had more eggs then I did. I now know exactly how many eggs I have, they never stick to the "plate" and I can stack the eggs from the previous carton on top! I won't be without this item again!

I bought this because I have chickens and don't want to have to buy egg cartons. The ceramic egg rack is adorable. I like that I can see how many eggs I have on hand. It's well-made. Just can't recommend it enough. Love it!

I came across a unique use for this egg rack--a jewelry organizer--I ordered 3 of them and love them. I keep one wherever I put on or take off jewelry. It is pretty, simple and well made. I am sure it is perfect for its intended use but in the meantime, it is perfect for holding my jewelry.

Saw this on some TV cooking show and hunted it down for the kitchen. Holds a dozen eggs on the counter perfectly, but is less useful if you refrigerate eggs. Since fresh eggs don't really need to be refrigerated anyway, provided you use them in a week or two, they can sit on the counter fine. This rack also works great when you're making breakfast for a group, or omelet dinners. But if you have a lack of counter space, they can be annoying when you don't need the eggs out. This rack ends up being used for special occasions, same as the turkey platter, gravy bowl and sushi plates. Counter space around our place is at a premium and almost everything gets tucked in a drawer or cabinet unless being used.

I have chickens so this is perfect. It works much better than the cartons you get in the grocery store because #1: The eggs don't stick to it. #2: It is easy to clean. #3: I can see how many eggs I have at a glance. And #4: It is so dang cute! I have two of these and will probably get another one.

I ordered this ceramic egg crate to use as an earring holder on my dresser. I find that if I can see my jewelry, I'm more likely to wear it. Each spot is large enough to hold even my largest dangly earrings, and the wells are deep enough that I don't fear my stud earrings are going to leap out and wander off my dresser. So lovely!
