Yeah, my daughter is the coolest kid in school now. All because of these molds ;)
Never used them for ice but I'm sure that's cool too....ok, no pun intended ;P
These are a great size too! They are a little over 3 inches I'd say which make for a nice size chunky crayon!
Either way, cut up broken or used crayons..without the paper of course, into like inch size pieces. Fill the mold with them. You can mix colors or do one color per mold or like us, all the tiny slivers and chunks that come off when you're cutting the inch long pieces...they make AWESOME tie dyed looking ones!
Anywhoo...bake in the oven at around 200* until they are melted. No longer. If they get too hot or stay hot too long, the pigment separates from the wax leaving a wax layer on the top of your crayons.
AND WHALAH!! You have the coolest crayons in like....EVER!
Funny...I have orders from the high school for mustache crayons!
I fill mine with coffee and the cubes seem to come out of the tray easy and without breaking. Also, the listing is a bit misleading, what they don't tell you is that you get half a ring... Yes, the trey it's a bit expensive and hard to handle, but once you learn how to use it, it's quite fun!
