You load the guy with tea by popping him open -- there are a couple metal tabs which hold two halves shut. This is a slightly fiddly process, and can lead to a few stray tea leaves on the counter. Also, when closed, some tea leaves can escape through the cracks in the side, so if you're a purist about not getting any leaves in the tea you drink (and/or you tend to drink very finely ground tea) that could be a problem.
I love it, and all the people I've shown think it's great. His arms will extend to fit most cup sizes, and he seals the tea in very well. And Teabot (as I like to call it) is super easy to clean; some infusers make it really difficult to get out all of the leaves, but this one opens all the way up and it's no problem.
This infuser is fun, effective, and has a nice little presence in the kitchen when he's not in use. I definitely would recommend this product.
It is difficult to fill the tube with tea unless it's scoped with the tube and even then it scoops poorly especially when wet. The narrow space doesn't allow the leaves to properly expand and the tube broke at the top row of slots after first use. I can't imagine how difficult emptying the wet leaves would have been.
I received this item as a gift.
Overall a nice fun product.
If you worry about tea leaves in your cup buy a supertight tea ball with miniscule holes or just don't drink tea.
Ok well that's what I posted when I first got it, but since then I found that things have changed.
It isn't floating for as long anymore, the air keeps getting out, probably because the tea leaves get stuck in the tiny seal cause of static. I also find that the water doesn't get through it enough. My tea's lacking flavour because it's not letting out enough. Also, a lot of pieces have started falling out now. Otherwise, everything else I mentioned before stays the same.
I'm just a little upset now that I got large particle loose tea that won't fit in this thing, this weekend out of town. So I knew i had to return it but i got back home and found out I missed the return deadline by 2 days. Darn it

Works nicely. Would be better if the holes were a tad smaller to accommodate finer teas.Published 24 days ago by B.H.
Advertised as "floating" leaf, but it sinks straight to the bottom; pretty disappointed.Published 1 month ago by Alice
He is just as cute as his picture. But he's also only about as big as the picture. He doesn't hold much tea and his arms have to be positioned just so in order to stay put, but did... Read morePublished 1 month ago by C. Farris
