Its cute but you need to get a power cord to go with it, and you will probably want one that is a surge suppressor. The problem is, most of those are just slightly too long to fit in this! I found this one on Amazon that is inexpensive and short enough; you will probably want to buy it at the same time.

Maybe I had grand ideas for what this "charging station" was going to be. Don't get me wrong, it is cute and funky, but it's definitely no more high tech than, literally, a plastic box with fake grass. The grass sits atop a grid that allows you to store and neatly keep the actual chargers for your various items beneath it. The white plastic box then just has a hole in the back that you have to feed a power cord (not included) through. Please note that you will need to buy a power cord separately. In order to charge your device and rest it in the grass, you have to poke your charger through the fake grass and connect.

I am not unhappy with this because I still think that it's a fun desk piece; I just don't know if it was worth the price because it's extremely rudimentary. I cannot imagine that this cost more than 10 cents to make, but you're paying for the ingenuity I suppose. I would give it higher stars if it came with the electric plug in the bottom to plug all of your device chargers into.

I had been considering buying this since I saw it on ThinkGeek. I love the look and concept, its elegant and simple. Then I realized there was no plug included. Paying 25 dollars for a white box with artificial grass is a bad buy. Supply the user with a built in 3-5 ac or usb hub at the bottom and I would happily spend double the asking price. Why buy something that will only work if you purchase another... seems backward.

If you're reading this review you are probably not window shopping, but most likely looking for a solution to the unsightly problem we've arrived at in the digital age. I took a chance 6 months ago based on the reviews here and purchased this charging station.
What people say in all the negative reviews and positive reviews is correct:

It's true that the plastic piece the "grass clumps" attach to is flimsy and they fall apart easily. However, it's also true that this problem is very easily and effectively solved by putting a drop of gorrila glue on each 'pin' the grass attaches to before attaching them. Since doing that, no problems with grass falling out.

The same can also be said about the box just being a plain box underneath the grass with no special notches, clips, etc. to secure plugs and adapters. That's true but it's also not a problem once you've taken the time to strategically arrange these items and where the cords come up through the grass.

In the end, once you've spent some time doing this (you only need to do it once) the result is a nice looking solution to a common problem. We keep ours on the entertainment center cabinet below our flat screen TV, where, despite being cheap plastic, it looks very attractive and is used to charge 2 iPhones, 2 pairs of 3D glasses and a mobile broadband card.

I would give it less than four stars if there were competing products that were more attractive or with better features for the same price- but since there's not much competition and it does solve the problem well it deserves this rating (IMHO).

I was disappointed in this item. I thought I would really like it, based on the appearance. But it's really just a cheap plastic box with fake grass in it that falls apart when you move it around to set it up. The station does not include a cord/outlets. And some chargers plug into extension cords at odd angles,so the grass "sticks up" underneath them. Yes, it's kinda cute and silly. And it's kinda nice that they have a cross piece in the bottom to wrap cords around. But is it worth this much money? Not really.

Nice item, but finding a properly sized power cord is frustrating.

The item is ok- looks nice, though is thin plastic. It doesn't seem particularly sturdy (as in, the fake grass being placed on the prop that holds it up. It was frustrating finding a power cord that fits it. The product description is accurate- it tells the size of the product, and that it doesn't include the power supply. For the price, it would be more reasonable if it included the power supply cord. But, overall, a clever charging device.

I was very disappointed to find out that for $25 plus tax, and shipping all you get is a plastic container, and a plastic piece of "sod"!!! It's a cute idea, but way over priced. You could probably go to a dollar store and buy everything you need to make a similar one for less than $5.

I guess I thought this would be a funny thing to put your devices into. It basically sucks. It *should* have some kind of electronics built into it, and the base *should* have weight in it. Also, the grass needs to be stiffer. A lot stiffer. You'd be better off with an oven pan and a towel to lay things on. It works OK for phones, as long as you lay them in a way that they won't fall out. They will fall out, though. 7 inch tablets have taken multiple dives to the floor, about 5 feet down. Don't put a 7 inch tablet in unless you put it landscape, in a very balanced position. Also, be careful that your cords don't fall back in, or you'll be constantly taking the top off to push them back through, and cram everything back into place. 70% of the time, the grass is half out, because I had to fix something, then got pissed of and didn't want to go through the "put everything back" ritual.

So, nice idea. Unless this is where you're displaying your easter eggs (or whatever. Anything that doesn't need a cable and won't slide out), don't buy.
