Kill Shot (Code 11-KPD SWAT Book 6) by Lani Lynn Vale, I’ve been looking forward to this since her first series Freebirds when Barrett is a secondary character in Max and Payton story.

Fast forward to now when Barrett is a twenty-five year old single father to Reagan who is now eight year old. He joined the Navy Seal at seventeen years old, then after leaving the Navy joined the SWAT team in his hometown. You’ve got Lennox who is twenty-six years old who is a physician’s assistant at a very young age. From the beginning of their story you could tell they had some kind of connection. Yes, it was sexual at first, but grew into something more than neither of them thought it would be. As well Lennox is dealing with a crazy stalker during this time, while Bennett is as well dealing with a career, being a single dad and dealing with mother of his child who left after Reagan was born. I loved how Lennox interacted not only with Bennett, but as well Reagan who she didn’t mind being around.

Of course, you’ll get to see Bennet’s family in this story and of course the funny as always Payton. At first these two decided to have a friend with benefits, but they both knew it was growing into much more. Along the way they are dealing with Corrine which is Lennox stalker. I was shocked to find out the connection between Corrine and Bennett, but I kind of figured it had to be her. I’m not going to lie, I cried badly when I thought just maybe this was not going to end well. This group of friends has always had each other’s back no matter what.

We always deal with some series issues throughout this book with Lennox that at times it was hard for her to ask for help even though she knew that she needed it.

I usually enjoy this series but this one fell flat for me. I didn't feel their connection in this book. It was like I don't like you and then let's get it on. The suspense was good in this book. I just wanted more of a connection with the H and h.

So love this series and it just gets better and better each time. Gotta love all the KPD Swat Team, each one all hard Alpha male in their own right but when it comes to their women they love even harder. This book of Bennett and Lennox is my favourite out of the whole series. Here you have 2 people from different walks of life, dislike each other from the first but ended up being friends with benefits and eventually fell in love. Then along comes someone from both of their past to threaten their new love and had almost destroyed it. This is truly one of the best series i have ever read and definitely recommend it to all Swat fans out there, you wont be disappointed.

Kill Shot (Code 11-KDP SWAT #6)
By: Lani Lynn Vale
5/5 stars

Bennett Alvarez hasn’t always had it easy. Readers first met him during his sister, Payton’s & Max’s book, Another One Bites the Dust, Freebirds #3, when he was just a kid in high school. At the age of 17, he’d caught his girlfriend cheating on him, joined the Navy and found out that he was going to have a daughter. He later became a SEAL & got full custody of his daughter. Now, 8 years later, as a single father, he left the Navy, and now he’s an officer on the Kilgore Police Department and is a member of the SWAT team. Unfortunately, he still has to deal with or see his ex, Corinne, the crazy-baby mama from time to time. Now, he’s a full-grown man and what a man he is, tall, muscular, intimidating and gentle, loving and caring.

Lennox Jane has studied hard and has accomplished a lot in her 26 years. She’s a Physician’s Assistant at the local hospital in Kilgore, where both her mom and dad are doctors. But Lennox hasn’t had good luck in the men and dating department. She seems to have gotten men that either just want to play around or they become problematic stalkers. Then to top it off, she had a crazy college roommate who accused her of trying to steal her boyfriend and hasn’t let it go in all of 6-8 years since then. She’s been stalked & harassed & has had to take steps to reinsure her privacy and safety.

Bennett & Lennox start out with a friendly-contentious type of relationship, where they give each other a lot of crap and poke fun at one another. It made for a lot of laughs, which usually happens when I read a book by Lani Lynn Vale. And then the interactions with Bennett & his daughter Reagan & niece Harleigh are hilarious.

Another AWESOME addition to Lani Lynn Vale's SWAT series! Kill Shot was funny, suspenseful, exciting and oh-so-sexy. And the characters... the best friends, the other members of the SWAT team & their wives, the parents, the kids and especially Bennett & Lennox... I LOVED them to pieces.

I am so in love with Benny Boo Boo & Lennie Lou! They made for such a fun and feisty match together. I loved the bluntness, the teasing, the f***ing "I love yous" and the passion they shared with one another in their relationship. So. Dang. Hot. There was never a dull moment when they were together and that made their story unputdownable!

Bennett... The reason why Lennox calls him the devil, telling Lennox that there are "no take backs" and the tears he shed at almost losing her are just some of the things that made me fall for him. He was deliciously alpha, hardworking, sweet and was such a great dad. I really, really wish he wouldn't have avoided Lennox for that extended period of time later on in the book but I'm very happy with one "errand" he made during that time. *wink wink*

Lennox... Squirting Paxton with her windshield wipers, her drunk-dialing Bennett and her explanation to the SWAT wives of what "truffle butter" meant are just a couple of the reasons why I really liked her. She's stubborn, smart, strong and she's definitely not a doormat. (Thank gods!) Obviously, I wish she would've been more upfront with Bennett where her secrets were concerned but her trust issues were understandable.

That crazy-a** b**** Corrinne... Ugh. I am so incredibly happy that she got what she deserved. Yeah, it was pretty harsh but with what she'd done, it was obviously the only acceptable solution.
