Always make 'em pay.

In the aftermath of the Battle of Kublar—and the destruction of the battleship
Chiasm—Legion Dark Ops recruits Chhun, Wraith, and the survivors of Victory Company to form an elite Kill Team of legionnaires. Their secret mission is as clear as it is deadly: find and eliminate those responsible for the Kublar disaster.

Standing between them and their objective are a maze of corrupt Republic officials, a spy on the verge of losing himself in deep cover, and the Zhee—a murderous species who will stop at nothing. But perhaps the biggest threat of all is the truth they seek to uncover.

A truth that could ignite a revolution—and engulf the galaxy in flames…
…unless the Kill Team is willing to finish the job. At any cost.

    Wow.

I just finished the 3rd book in the Galaxy's Edge series, and I was absolutely blown away! I'm loving this series more and more with each entry.

This book takes place immediately after the end of Legionnaire, the first novel, and partially fills in the 7-year gap between Legionnaire and Galactic Outlaws, the second novel. (If you haven't read those ones, you really should before jumping in here. There isn't a whole lot of time dedicated to explaining events in the previous books.) The novel is split between our heroes from the first book, who are recruited to a Dark Ops kill team to hunt down the rebels who were responsible for the events of the first book, and a Nether Ops spy who is working on the same problem from a different angle.

The spy's perspective feels very different than the other narratives we've seen already, and I enjoyed watching him spiral into the wilderness of mirrors as he tries to become the villain he is expected to be as an undercover agent while keeping true to who he really is.

The Dark Ops team was more familiar (as it was basically a direct continuation of what we've already seen) but was thrilling nonetheless.

I'm enjoying the attempts to explore this universe from different angles with each story. It'll be impressive if the authors can continue this going forward.

I can't wait for the next one! KTF!

Hmmm, I see I am late to the party as lots of fans have already posted their 5 star reviews for Kill Team in the Galaxy's Edge series. I hate to break the streak here of all the 5 star reviews - literally all the reviews here so far are 5 stars so far as I write this and that is utterly amazing - and yet I must issue my formal dissent and bring down the rage of the SciFi Fan world but that's why I review - to let the future reader know what one fan thinks of the book. Honestly. Sadly, I cannot rate this book 5 stars. It would not be fair and it' simply is NOT justifed. So The only reason I do so is because freaking Amazon won't let me rate it higher. The SOB's. Well its their playground, ball, bat, and of course their rules. Seriously folks it is such a good read it should be a 10++ (that's to the higher power if I remember the math correctly. And as high as you want to take it.) Heck the Galaxy - even if it's a dumpster fire - has billions of stars. It can spare them.

First: Do yourself a favor and begin reading at the beginning. Read "Legionnaire" first. It's book 1. Then read "Galactic Outlaws" next. Now you are prepared read Kill Team. If you do this you'll appreciate it a little bit more when you finally get to Kill Team and besides you will have had several GREAT HOURS of awesome SciFi reading fun. HEALTH WARNING: If you have had coronary issues in your life (I say this speaking from experience) PLEASE take your meds before reading. But read it. Then go thank the authors and get pumped for book four.

A word about reading lists: OK... Fellow bookworms - you got dozens of books to read and you already have 3 dozen or so downloaded to your Kindle. I know. really... I know. I probably have way more than 3 dozen I haven't read on my own Kindle and scratch probably.

    RTF

    Read These First.

And be glad you did. OOhhrahhh!

I really got out of sync when I started reading this series. Actually when I read my first book, which was actually book #2, I did not know it was a series. After reading "Galactic Outlaws" I went out and bought all of the other series then read book #1 "Legionnaire" then got out of sync again by reading Book #4 "Attack of shadows" then realized my mistake and just finished reading book #3 "Kill Team". There is a story line and it helps to read this series from the beginning. I will stay on track from now on.
This is a great series. Lots of violence, action, danger, humor, good guys who are a little bad and bad guys who are really bad. Lots of twists and turns and surprises. Do not read these books while trying to go to sleep. Does not work very well. There is a lot of "stuff" happening in these books so you have to pay attention and do not space reading each book to far apart from the last one. And get ready for a ride.

The third installment in Galaxy's Edge begins where the second one left off - but then you get pulled back to where the first book ended in a flashback that starts to fill in some of the questions such as 'Is this Wraith the same as the captain in book one' and ' What happened to get from Republic vs MCR' to 'The 'Point' is doing WHAT?' in book two.

Spoilers below if you haven't read book one and two:

This book begins with Aeson Keel (aka Wraith from book 2) flying his ship, when he gets a message, the scene shifts to a flashback of Wraith, Chhun, etc. as they escaped the planet in the first book, and follows their exploits as they volunteer to be a Dark Ops, the Legion's version of Delta, the SEALS, SAS, etc. The book also explains that there is a layer darker than that, Nether Ops, which does very horrible things in order to hopefully stop the unthinkable.

Very good, it's clear the authors are on a roll, and hopefully they don't stop anytime soon. The evolution of Chhun, Wraith, Kags, Masters, Exo, and Twenties into an elite Kill Team for Dark Ops is a good read, and finding out how, and why, the Chiasm was destroyed in book 1 is a revelation.

It's a fully action filled romp with betrayals, espionage, murder, friendships, killing, subterfuge, more killing, close quarter combat, battles in space on ships, space stations and more.

I couldn't keep the book down.

    Onto the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars ... read the first two books in the series and enjoyed them this third instalment will not dissapoint
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 13, 2017
If you have read the first two books in the series and enjoyed them this third instalment will not dissapoint.
Kill team starts just after the events of the second novel before quickly going back to fill in some of the seven year gap between book one and two and the events leading to the Kublar massacre.
Battered and bloody the surviving members of victory company are thirsty for paybck and answers are recruited in to the black ops kill teams of the legion.
Meanwhile a shadow intelligence organization of the republic has a deep cover operative so deep that he may lose himself in the role that he plays, in attempt to gain the trust of the man supplying arms to the Mid Core Rebbelion.
Don't let how the book switches narratives put you off as this adds to the story in a whole.
If you had questions from the first two novels then maybe this will answer some of them for you, but the twists at the end will leave you wanting more from the galaxy's edge series.
Anspach & Cole have created one of the greatest universe's since one that was a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.

5.0 out of 5 stars KTF Leej's.. For Victory Company and revenge...
Reviewed in Australia on November 10, 2017
Wow! I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Some books just ramp up the action each book, and you ride along afraid to get off. This was such a book. It's a wild ride as the survivors of Victory Company join the Dark Ops. They are out for revenge after the rest of their company were killed on Kublar in Book 1. The only problem is, the guy who caused all those deaths is really a Republic spy, sent by Nether Ops, to find and kill a master weapons smuggler named Scarpia. Tom (Not his real name) has infiltrated Scarpia's operation, but each time he does something to get deeper in, more people die. The Kill Team are slowly making their way across the galaxy fighting Zhree and the MCR to find him, Tom's fighting to keep his identity secret, and to find out wht Scarpia is really up to. Eventually, things come to a head, the Kill Team boards the ship Tom and Scarpia, the Zhree and MCR have turned into a gigantic space borne bomb, and Tom manages to somehow help the Leej's kill or capture them all.. KTF..
