These episodes were too much for me, although to give a fair review, I read all three. For me they were horrifying. Too much over the top violence. There is a feeling hanging over, and intimated, that there is some evil force behind these murders. I don't deal with demonism or that type evil well. I won't be ordering the whole series.
I did enjoy the detection part and reasoning skills of the detective, but that was it. The writers' style is a bit dry, straightforward type of reporting what the reader sees and hears from the detective himself. It's not strong on description, deep character assessment, and conversation. It somehow works, but I think that may be a result of the consistency of the writer keeping that tone from episode to episode.
If you like horror, a feeling of Sherlockian reasoning, and dark paranormal, you will like this book. It just leaves me nauseous, but that is my honest opinion.
