KILLING GUNTHER is a comedy set in the world of contract killers. A group of young, raw, and undisciplined assassins hire a docu-crew at gunpoint to have undeniable proof that they're the ones who will kill the most infamous hit man of all time, Gunther (Arnold Schwarzenegger). But Gunther is on to them before they know it and makes their lives a living hell, turning the hunters into the prey in a kill-or-be-killed race against time.

1. This is a mockumentary. Emphasis on mock.
2. Even more so, a mockumentary about hitmen. We're pretty far afield here.
3. Quality arnie time is the last 20-30 minutes. Wait for his single in the credits. "Earthquake Love" Delightfully horrible.
4. Does a perfectly respectable job of blowing the panache off of all the 007, MissionImpossible, Jason B, etc movies.
Yes this is basically a very low budget (looking) version of Expendables in mockumentary form.
To be fair, I waited for it to be free with Prime.... So for $0 it was an acceptable distraction for 90 minutes. It's fine. It's amusing. Watch the trailer - it's better than the trailer by 20-30%.
He's Arnold Schwarzeneggar. He probably has to be paid more than all of the other actors combined just to get a cameo. I could have told you it was a cameo before i even watched it or looked at the comments. Watch the movie without judgement if you want a quick laugh with a few easter eggs. Have less expectations and enjoy a goofy movie. I sure did.
I saw some reviews before I watched and expected much worse. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised because there were genuinely funny parts even if there were some stretches with few laughs. It isn't for everyone, but that's true of every movie. If you don't like mockumentaries, you'll hate it. If you want to see Arnold Schwarzenegger put a corpse's hand down the pants of another corpse, you might like this movie.
Yes, he EVENTUALLY appears, but it's really a vehicle for some Saturday Night Live actors. While the premise is interesting, the movie actually wasn't. Realizing that people probably worked hard to put this all together, I feel bad disliking the movie as much as I did, but it was just really flat. [Some of the characters were mildly offensive (to me).] 'Gunther's' appearance was really the only entertaining aspect of the movie.
Watching this movie made me curious about the mechanics of film production, i.e. how does financing work; was Mr. Schwarzenegger's involvement critical to the film being made; what's his split of the revenues generated, etc...?
It's basically a mockumentary about a bunch of assassins who work very poorly together to try to kill this guy Gunther, who we don't really meet until the very end right around where the story climaxes (truth be told, one unique part of this movie is it kind of has two climaxes, but that's all I can say without spoiling anything).
Anyway, if you're a Prime member, check this movie out. It's got a unique sort of sarcastic humor, and the cast is great.
Bruce is the star, I wouldn't be so angry if the produces honestly tagged these types of clikbait movies
with Cameo star: Arnold......Bruce...... I almost never give less than 5 stars to any show barring
seriously hideous flaws. I don't mind the acting , the scenes are decent , might even go past
the 1/2 way mark, :shrugs:
