Calvin Hobbs, a retired police officer turned detective, took a case that turned out to be more than he bargained for. His once basically mundane existence is now full of chaos and he isn't sure why things changed so fast. He has no choice but to find out. Will he succeed in getting his life back in order or will 'the stranger' have other plans for him?
While the version I read did have some formatting issues, this did not detract so much that I could not continue. I'm glad to note that according to the synopsis, the author made corrections. As for the story itself, there were plenty of plot twists and turns. I just had to know what was going to happen next and I was not disappointed.
Warning: This book is for Mature Audiences due to sometimes graphic violence, sexual situations, and adult language.
The writing style was jarring too. It was very stilted and then cursing would be tossed in.
