I should give a forewarning, I have been a fan of Nemcoff for years (ever since the N1B podcasts). The reason I have been a fan for so long is that he continuely makes/produces/writes extremely interesting things.
When I first heard about this i was like "uh....okkkk."

Then I downloaded it. I missed two trains because I couldn't put it down.

A first hand, very diplomatic, tounge in cheek account reviewing the death of Bin laden.

What makes it so interesting is the following:

1) The first person point of view really makes you feel like you are in the White House one second, then out in the sands of the desert in the next page. (Seriously- mark- did you hide in a SEALS unit or what?)

2) Some of the takes/perspectives/views of society.

I am a huge fan of Richard Marchinko (the founder of SEAL Team Six) and to read a book about ST6 that isn't from him ....well it would be jarring.
If it were anyone else BUT Nemcoff.

Again, brilliant job sir!

I enjoyed this account of the plans of action in getting Bib Laden. I found it informative and well written. Hats off to President Obama for going through with this attack, and I think he approached it very well. I did get the feeling that the writer gets a little excited over the mention of Obama's name as a lot of the book seemed to be written with a great admiration for the President. This is not a bad thing, but there were a couple of zingers tossed out for no reason I could see notably at The Donald.(not that I am a big fan of his, but it just looked out of place) But to each his own. I thank the writer for the book. I also thank the men and women that put the plan together, and of course the brave soldiers that went in at a very high risk to themselves. Bravo, well done and THANK YOU !!!!!!!!

This is a short, straightforward, and apparently factual (and I say apparently because the government has never really given us a detailed account of events) description of the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Author Mark Yoshimoto Nemcoff provides a brief rundown of the primary clues that finally led U.S. intelligence and the military to Bin Laden's hiding place, but the focus of the book is, of course, the raid that left the world's most wanted criminal dead. That being said, the only thing I really learned here was that the special ops team used a dog to sniff out possible explosives as they made their way through the compound. Virtually all of the information to be found here was widely available on the Internet and through various news media - how else could the author, a man whose career as a rock journalist, music composer, and screen/TV writer would seem to preclude him having access to some high-level source within the government or intelligence community, publish the book a mere four days following Bin Laden's death? While the book is well-written, it really is a book that anyone could have written. Given the fact that the government couldn't keep its own story straight in the days following the raid, I can't put absolute faith in all of the details of any book written and published during those first four days.

This "paper" was a great disappointment. Certainly the advertising was over-hyped, let this be a sign that nothing g good follows when the author uses his reviews from Amazon online readers to tout the book's worth. There is nothing new to learn at all, and if you read the newspapers at the time you probably have more information than appears in this book. When trying to determine the purpose of the writing, the best answer seems to lie in the author wanting the job of cheerleader for Obama. Start to finish the reading of the book took about fifty minutes, if that much. Give it a pass, although if you do buy it, perhaps the author will use the money to hire a copy editor. Hopefully that is where my $.99 will go.

I enjoyed reading this following a reading of Triple Agent about the CIA loss in Afghanistan the year before. It was basically a summary news articles and other information mostly available in the public arena....but it is worth the effort in consolidation.

It should be noted that is was written in a way that sounded like a liberal guy in a bar talking about his research.

The language is frat house style and the gushing over Obama coupled with dismissing of Bush the torturer was rather annoying.

I still give it two stars because it is such an interesting topic.

This isn't a book, it's basically a pamphlet! Haven't read it yet and I'm sure it's fascinating but really.....
I've had thicker pancakes. Maybe it's my mistake but I was expecting a decent sized book to read over the dark winter evenings. As it happens it should just about fill a commercial break in a TV programme. At least the wife had a laugh when I pulled it out of the envelope.
