SPOILER: Alicia Stone, a law graduate, lives in Georgestown, a fictional town of England, and in order to recover from her breakup, she gets a job in a local bookstore which is run by the mysterious, Mr. K. There are some instant flames and attraction that Alicia felt for her employer who is intimidating to be frank with. Long story short, the murder happens and the police suspects Mr. K. Here comes the first twist in the tale. Her ex-boyfriend comes back to town as a police officer and assisting in solving the crime. The police contacts Alicia to get the fingerprints of Mr. K without making it a fuss.
Now, there is a parallel story running in Warsaw, Poland, of a scientist named Garret who is finishing his Phd in Genetics, but along with that he is also working with a secret brotherhood, which has objectives "to build a better world, to produce new knowledge, to guard the nature of life, and to adhere to the high moral values". It sounds like a private research organization to me. Anyways, he is running for his life as his brothers are dying one by one. The fate leads him to the Georgestown, but the killer is right on his tail as his sole objective is to finish the brotherhood for good.
The story is intriguing and there is some potential of interesting future plot lines. There are some really funny convos between Alicia and other characters. As a woman, it was easier to be able to relate with her and I sense that she is going to be the sole protagonist in the future novels of the series as well. There is some subtly old-school love story brewing between Alicia and Mr. K, but I guess they will take some life before realizing their feelings.
There is adventure, suspense, and strong characterization which are integral for a good mystery.

And these were only some of the errors before location 247 out of 3431.
It's admirable that someone can conquer another language to this extent. The story sounded interesting, However, an editor was needed to correct the incorrect syntax, tense, prepositions and pronouns. I just couldn't get past the errors on every page. The reviews enthusiastic, but it was too poorly written to overcome these obstacles.
Perhaps it can be properly and reissued. I hope so.
The characters are well rounded, the story line is engrossing, complex and mysterious. In addition, I can feel myself in the locations because of the descriptive prose. That's good stuff to me.
I would recommend this to anyone who loves mysteries, fast-paced thrillers
