Very much enjoyed this piece of work by the author. The Killing Season is superbly researched with great character development, 'scene setting' and compelling story telling. The format works great and allows for the reader to be fully immersed in the story. You really feel the ups and downs as well as the frustrations and breakthroughs of the original characters involved. It also has its share of surprises and curiosities that will keep you thinking long after you put it down. If you are a fan of the 'genre' (The Jinx, Serial or Making of a Murderer, etc) like I am you will most surely enjoy reading The Killing Season. One of the few books I have read in one sitting, top notch page turner.

A complete page-turner. I highly recommend not only for true-crime fans and fans of thrillers, but for anyone who's into strong, fulfilling characters. You really get to know the detectives on the case — the author humanizes them. They're husbands, fathers and friends, and you feel the blood, sweat and tears that went into their investigation all the way through to the unbelievable outcome.
