Product Description
A New Way to Listen! Born for Sports!
Bone conduction headphones, a kind of open-ear wireless workout headphones that do not block or cover the ears, so you can enjoy music while staying alert and aware of your surroundings. This unique experience makes them the first choice for exercise earphones because they allow you to power your workouts through music without losing the awareness of your surroundings. This is why runners, skiers, mountain bikers, climbers, and many other outdoor sportsmen and women like bone conduction sport headphones so much.
Bone Conduction Technology
Bone conduction is the transmission of sound vibrations to the inner ear (cochlea) bones of the skull, which allows you to perceive sound without blocking the ear canal. Even more simply put: it’s sound that is delivered directly to the inner ear without needing to pass through the eardrum. Essentially, the vibrations received by the cochlea are the same no matter which way you receive them; they are simply sent via a different pathway.
- Audio enters the transducer;
- Convert sound waves into vibrations;
- Deliver sound straight to your inner ear via vibrations in the bones in your head.
Unique Advantages Of Bone Bonduction Headphones
- Open-ear Safety: Sport Bluetooth headphones leave your ears open and uncovered, which keep you aware of your surroundings and possible hazards, such as traffic, wildlife, and pedestrians; for a safer listening experience. Adding a soundtrack to the world rather than blocking it out, which is a unique, inspiring sensory experience enjoying music safely.
- Comfort & Stability: A lightweight, wraparound titanium frame ensures all-day comfort and a snug fit that will not slip even during strenuous exercise, running, rugged riding, and all other sports that you enjoy!
- Hygiene: There are no ear pods or earbuds inside of your ear canal, which will not make you feel sore, uncomfortable, or sweaty in your ears. This is definitely a big comfort and hygiene win.
- Strong Battery Life: Rechargeable lithium-ion battery: Offers up to 8 hours of continuous music and calls on a single charge. You can easily enjoy them hiking, running, or biking without worrying about downtime.
Advanced Bluetooth 5.0 Technology
- Faster Pairing And More Reliable Connection: You can quickly pair it not just with smartphones but also with tablets, laptops, or even wearables like smartwatches.
- Faster Transmission Speed: Ensures minimal to no sound delays and faster audio transmission for music and calls.
- Longer Transmission Distance: Users can enjoy more freedom as it allows up to 33 feet of distance from the audio source.
Kimwood original audio technology to achieve a high-quality audio experience.
- Upgraded Transducer: Louder volume with less vibration. Ensures a richer and more detailed audio quality even in noisy environments.
- Fully Enclosed Cavity: Significantly reduces natural sound leakage.

TL;DR: in a semi-quiet environment (office, home, park), these do EXACTLY what they need to: comfortably for hours at a time, with solid sound quality, and at an amazing price.
SOUND QUALITY:
This is a different experience from headphones or earbuds. If you've ever gone from closed ear headphones to comparable quality open ear headphones, it's a similar amount of difference. The sound comes from nowhere but also everywhere at once. I don't know if this is a positive or negative attribute. I feel like the openness is tricking me into thinking that they have a larger soundstage than they really do, but I can't really compare them to something else because it's just a different feeling altogether.
There's definitely a wide spectrum of overall sound quality depending on the volume they are set at. Not the norm to have such drastic differences when using headphones/earbuds so thought it was worth breaking sound quality out into different zones:
Less than 15% volume: lower frequencies are just completely lost. Alright for podcasts in a very quiet environment, but not much else.
20~65%: the sweet spot. Sound is well balanced and shockingly clear. I'm not an audiophile, but at these volume settings, I would put the audio quality only a little bit below my Anker Soundcore Liberty True (highly rated "value" earbuds). For being pushed in through the side of my face, I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Even the bass sounds great in this range: enough to feel it just a little bit but not enough to tickle.
Above ~70%: not great for music. Once you start getting into this range, the small drivers vibrate pretty hard when trying to pump out bass, and the vibrations themselves muddy all sound (including the bass they're trying to represent). At 70%+ for podcasts/books, they can still tickle from bass vibrations but the sound suffers much less compared to music.
COMFORT/FIT/STAY-PUTTEDNESS
I noticed on day one that I had a headache after approximately 30 minutes of listening at ~40% volume. I left them on and it went away after another ~15m. Hasn't been back after wearing for many hours (and 3+ in a row). There is a mild pressure applied by the spring headband in order for these to actually work, but I got used to it very quickly.
You will not be able to shake these off. I tried to head-bang them loose and they did not move AT. ALL. If you laugh or emote very strongly, you'll notice them shift with you a little bit and the sound will change for a moment, but they find their way right back to neutral when you're done being human. Big plus here compared to in-ear buds that always seem to work their way out when I guffaw at a podcast.
The band, while necessary, is kind of annoying. I'd like to be able to put my head back on the recliner when sitting, but it gets in the way. You may have to adjust your posture depending on your chair. You obviously can't sleep with these on, either. An over-head band style (like headphones) version would be really cool but I don't think those exist.
The weight is less of a problem than I expected. They feel very substantial and significantly heavier than a pair of earbuds, but hooking up over your ears makes for a great anchor point. The band is extremely light (or maybe the fronts are that heavy?) so it never feels like it is trying to tip backwards. The mild pressure exerted on your face helps to support some of the weight as well.
They are still extremely comfortable with thicker-armed plastic-framed glasses: much more than most closed ear headphones, for example. If you move your glasses around they do shift on you. Just like for emoting, though, the driver pads always seem to find their way back to the correct spot and sound returns to normal.
SOFTWARE/BUTTONS:
Buttons are fine, do what they need to. Raised quite a bit, you won't have trouble feeling around for them. There are no buttons symmetrical across the case so it's easy to grab the box and squeeze just one button at a time using the finger space on the opposite side of that button. Takes a rather long hold for power on/off so it shouldn't happen by accident if you toss these in a bag.
Sync happens quickly. Tested on Android/Win10/Linux and no issues so far. One minor downside is the POWER ON, POWER OFF, and CONNECTED announcements are played at max volume every time, which isn't "loud" but does vibrate heavily. I just try to have them off when powering them up/down, you can feel the announcement happen through your fingers when holding them so there's still no guessing.
BATTERY LIFE:
Pretty mediocre, I guess. It would be great to get through 7-8h on one charge for a work day, but it's more like half that at 50% volume. On the other hand, they're cheap enough to buy two and just swap them back and forth if you plan on wearing them for all of your waking hours. I've been charging mine overnight so can't comment on charging speed.
From a practical standpoint about THESE headphones, the headphones seem to work exactly as described and with good quality. They feel a bit light and flimsy, which makes me nervous but they're holding up well so far after about 2 months of use. They are hard to take other places because they're odd-shaped and feel so flimsy that I'm afraid of crushing them in a purse or backpack. I have a hard time finding where to store them generally, usually just leaving them on a counter or bedside table, but they take up a lot of space compared to my other headphones (a set of wired earbuds and. a set of wireless earbuds). They're also much bigger than my head, which means it can lean at weird angles sometimes that bother my ears in a sensory kind of way. It reminds me of the behind-the-head earmuffs, except these aren't adjustable, so it just sticks far out behind my head. My head is smaller than average, and I would say the back sits about 2-3 inches behind my head. This can be very complicated and icky-feeling around your ears if you want to wear other things around your head like earmuffs, a headscarf, or a hat.
I wear glasses full-time and haven't had issues with that because the loop lays outside or a little above my glasses - they don't interfere with each other.
Biggest issue: vibration as a sensory issue. Personally, I have to keep the volume low to avoid negative sensory reactions. First and foremost - don't just open the box and put it on your head right away. This took several days of adjustment. The first few days gave me headaches pretty quickly. I considered sending them back but decided to stick with it, increasing my listening by a few minutes each day. Now I can listen for however long I want so long as the volume stays low, but after an hour or two, the top of my ears start to feel sore/irritated.
But even now, I can't turn it on while wearing it because you can't control the volume of the status update kind of things like "Connected!" It's too loud and the vibration hurts as well as triggering icky sensory feelings inside the middle part of my ears. I place them around my neck because it's close enough that I can still hear the status and get the volume settled on whatever I want to listen to. I would never put them on and THEN turn on a sound. Sound always goes on first, then I pick up the headphones and put them on my ears. But you can still be surprised by notifications, like a phone call. Suddenly a voice will come in loud and painful with "Phone call from 1-987-..." If this is linked to your phone, I suggest having sound and notifications turned off while using.
From an auditory processing standpoint, this can actually make it worse by leaving your ears able to pick up even more sounds from more sources than if you had in-ear headphones. These are the opposite of noise-canceling earphones. Most situations are not appropriate for this style of headphones for me because of how it can ratchet up my auditory processing struggles. But sometimes it's exactly right. As a mother of young kids, this is perfect for listening to a song on repeat during bedtime or other stressful times with my kids where I need to be fully present with them, but I can use a song on repeat as a stim/calmer. Even if that song is something loud and angry like Papa Roach!
Another auditory processing thing is that because my ears can pick up other sounds normally and because the volume has to be low because of the vibrations, listening to podcasts, audiobooks, and other word-centric files isn't great. It seems to be a combination of additional sounds outside and a lower-than-I'd-like volume for speaking voices. Then it just sounds like Charlie Brown's teacher. I haven't been able to test it with exercising outdoors on streets, etc, which I think is one of the best possible uses of these headphones from a safety POV.
Overall, i would never rely on these headphones as my sole headphone, and they aren't the ones I use most often. But under the right circumstances, they're a fantastic new tool for autistic/auditory processing people. The trick is getting used to it and then finding the right uses for you and your brain.
Hopefully this helps someone! Going forward, I hope the manufacturer finds a way to handle the notification problems, allowing ways to turn them off or adjust the volume. I'd also like to see an adjustable back strap, and a better way to store/travel with them.
