To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The case material itself is good enough. However, the magnetic auto sleep and awake will act like crazy while the cover stays on the screen, which means the battery will drain like crazy. First I thought it was Kindle's battery problem, so I got the replacement for the Kindle. But the same thing happened again, so the problem is the case's magnetic part. It can drain fully charged 10th Gen Kindle to no-battery within 8 hours.
I'm not one to leave negative reviews on a product, but I am so disappointed by this case, I feel like I need to warn people about it. I love my new Kindle, but I sincerely hate this case, and I will be returning it.
I purchased this case after having tried a budget, off-brand case for my Kindle, hoping for a thinner profile, a cover that lies flat/flush, and a magnet that effectively triggers the auto sleep-wake function. This case delivered none of those things. The sleep-wake function does not work consistently, the top cover does not lie flush (when closed) or flat (when open), and it nearly doubles the weight and profile of my device, while seemingly leaving the edges of the device nearly exposed. It also leaves my hands inexplicably STICKY after reading. (I'm assuming this is in some way related to the "waterproof coating" that is on the fabric.) This case not worth the $30 I paid for it.
This is a nice cover for my new Kindle. I don't care for the "fabric" part - I wish they made one of these that was plastic or leather or something. I can see the fabric staining easily and needing to be cleaned, whereas a different material could simply be wiped off.
It is more expensive than you might want to pay -- but the Kindle snaps into a hard plastic backing, and when it is closed it is like a small notebook. The kindle turns off when it is closed and on again when open. It also has a slight magnet that keeps it closed and holds the cover on the back when fully open. Despite the price it is hard not to give it five stars.
The cover is nice, but it adds bulk, weight, and you're having to fiddle with the flap while reading by only using certain holding positions. When traveling, it's nice to be able to know that that you can put on this cover and your Kindle is going to be protected from everything except severe abuse. I'm glad I bought it, but I'd like a soft grippy case for at home use.
It's simple and fits my new kindle perfectly. No built in light feature, but don't really need one with my kindle model. Seems to be doing well protecting my device, too. Folds back easily so I can read comfortably, and when I close it, the kindle turns off. No complaints.
