"Why spend good money on newspapers and magazines, when you can get some of the world's best delivered to your Kindle for free?"  -- Ryan Tracey, E-Learning Expert

From the Author

I've never liked reading on a computer screen -- there's a reason they call computers "lean forward" devices and Kindles "lean back" devices. I'm definitely a lean-back reader so I want to do all the reading I can on my Kindle.

Unfortunately I found the newspaper and magazine selection available through Amazon to be expensive and limited. I persevered and learned how to get almost any newspaper or magazine I want formatted as an ebook and delivered to my Kindle automatically on a schedule I decide.

This way I start every morning with my three metro newspapers on my Kindle -- none of which is available from Amazon -- and I get my magazines during the week.

It took me a long time to work out how to do this but I'll show you how for less than the price of a coffee.

Well the cat is out of the bag as one disappointed reviewer stated.

The main premise of this book is how to use an online based service called Calibre...so maybe the name of the book should be "Calibre for Dummies" or "Calibre Cliff Notes". Either way, I am very computer savvy but just got my first eReader, a Kindle 3 and I absolutely love it.

I subscribed to the Huffington Post through Amazon only to learn after reading this short guide that I could be getting free, and I am now along with 32 other Newspapers, Magazines, Blogs and News Services.

Hey this book is as advertised FREE NEWS all you can probably handle...I have reviewed a few items on Amazon (not a hobby but something I do from time to time) and I had never heard of Steven Lewis before I bought this ebook. The truth is unless I already knew about the service AND how to SET IT UP (an important detail that people like me would probably spend more time trying to figure-out when I could save time reading this book) I would have nothing bad to say about this book I would simply go to "Manage My Kindle" in my Amazon account and request a refund and have the ebook removed from my device. This is something you can do with any Kindle content. No need to bash something just because it is not new to you or helpful, etc... I guess if I already knew what was in the book though I would not have bothered to buy it then complain about it either.

Cut to the chase:

I read MOST of the book. I sent Steven an email, he wrote me back. We corresponded some and he is still available to me if I have any feedback or questions, nice guy. He is not profiting further from our emails and is genuinely accessible.

As far as the content?

Worked exactly as described. Make sure you follow the direction exactly. They are not difficult. Would highly recommend this book. I can't believe I'm getting my local news paper (The Columbus Dispatch) delivered free to my Kindle every morning! Plus 30 other titles I selected.

Why spend good money on newspapers and magazines, when you can get some of the world's best delivered to your Kindle for free? It's a bit tricky to get going on your own, but luckily Steven Lewis is a Kindle expert. Follow his simple step-by-step instructions and you can't go wrong.

This book is fantastic. I'm not a complete novice with with the Kindle but I certainly wouldn't have been able to get all my regular newspapers on to the Kindle without this guide.

Reading the news on the Kindle is so much easier than any other format and being able to do it all for free is just great.

Thanks Steven for this wonderful guide.

Am I glad I picked this up! Steven is not kidding when he says "...this could be the last $2.99 you ever spend on newspapers, magazines or blogs."
If you're thinking about getting this, here's what I can tell you:

1) Very easy to set this up (with his book). I wouldn't have wanted to try and do it without his "step by step".

2) Once you set it up according to Steven's instructions... it is a BREEZE to get new content. Within a minute or two, I can easily add a new content source and have it automatically on my Kindle every day!!

3) Works great with my Kindle Touch

4) Content selection is amazing ... there is so much to choose from, and the formatting's great.

5) Delivery is automatic!! Now, every morning when I wake up I've got fresh content that's been automatically delivered right to my Kindle minutes before my alarm clock goes off. Ready to read!! Sweet. I estimate the seven items I've chosen so far is saving me between $50 - $70 a month.

Bottom Line: This is a remarkable book/system. I'm really glad I found this. It's greatly enhanced my daily Kindle experience.

I've recently invested in a MacBook, a Cannon SLR camera and a Kindle. I've found Amazon a great source of "how to" books that have helped me get started. I found this book on Amazon and I purchased it as I had no idea that I could get free newspapers and magazines on my Kindle.

Despite being a new Mac user I was able to follow the step by step instructions to get set up & I now happily read the newspapers and magazines of my choice on my Kindle on the bus to work every day. Thanks for getting me started.

I am not computer savvy at all and this had me downloading free publications in minutes. The screen captures that are in this book are outdated but still good enough to figure out what you need to do. I love being able to get British newpapers and magazines. Ever since Borders bookstores went down, I've had nowhere to go to browse a good selection of magazines. As other reviewers have pointed out, the selection of magazines through amazon is lousy. If you aren't subscribed to the title or willing to buy an issue, you can't get access through amazon to magazines. I love magazines and what I was able to find for my kindle before using calibre was disappointing. One of the main reasons I went with the Kindle Fire was to be able to read magazines in color. Many magazines will give you access to their latest issue for free on their website but the browser on the kindle doesn't work well enough to read these magazines online. Well worth the $3.
