About the Author

Leon Logothetis is a TV host, producer, author, traveler and all around good guy. Formerly a London broker, he gave up his comfortable life to travel and find real human connection. He is the host of "The Amazing Adventures of A Nobody" which was licensed to National Geographic International and aired in over 100 countries, including in the United States on Fox Reality Channel and Canada's OLN. He is also the author of a book by the same title. He has appeared on Good Morning America, CNN, FOX, BBC among other mainstream media outlets. He runs a production company called Principal Media and lives in Los Angeles, CA with his dog Winston.

I read on average 2-3 books a week and I very seldom write reviews. I think "The Kindness Diaries" touches and inspires me as much as "Mountains Beyond Mountains" (the story of Dr Paul Farmer, my first role model). That's why I was very interested in why people did not like it. I can understand why some thought it was an "ego trip" and that he was a "free loader", but even if that was true, I see nothing wrong with him feeling good about himself ("ego trip") and choosing a "free loader" route to fulfill his dream. Being the founder of the Asheville Pay It Forward Network, "free loader" doesn't exist in the dictionary of people who freely give. People who ask for help are actually providing us with the opportunity to experience the joy of giving and to remind us that we are here to pay-it-forward. The beauty of pay-it-forward is that everyone can do it in their own ways. I believe his way has inspired (and will) a lot of people and it's a great way to get the message across. I applaud him for what he did, even though I will not venture out of my house, let alone around the world, without money. People should learn to appreciate the good in others and to accept our differences. If this book doesn't speak to you, then your are not the right person, or perhaps it's not the right time.

This was an interesting concept, a man traveling the world in a yellow motorcycle and side car with no money, just living and traveling on the kindness of others. The author did manage to circumnavigate the world so had many interesting encounters along the way.
