I purchased this for making homemade malts. It taste amazing and works well in malts. Sometimes I add a little to chocolate milk to have the taste of a malt without the work and clean up of a malt.

I chose King Arthur because it has the least amount of ingredients and the lowest amount of sugar I can find. Unfortunately, it doesn't mix well in cold liquid (like plain milk) so you'll need to pre-dissolve it in a small amount of warm water prior to adding to cold liquid UNLESS you're adding it to a blender. I've had no issues mixing it when added to milk and ice cream in the blender.

I found this product on Amazon while looking for a malt-flavor product. I use it in making cookies and cakes so far, and a little works perfectly, especially in the cookies. It mixes easily, adding the appropriate flavor to the mixture, producing an excellent malt-flavoring to the cookie. It was definitely in the cake but not as prominent - there but didn’t overburden the tastebuds. Makes people ask about that quiet hidden flavoring. One of the special uses was mixing it with Wheat Flour and Masa Flour to make a tasty cookie. People loved the taste and cookie came out beautifully. (I know it’s good when the family asks me to remake it). I like this product for its special flavor it adds to some of my recipes. It is packaged in the right size - not too much so it won’t go to waste, but plenty for my purposes.

Carnation makes those vanilla and chocolate flavored malt powders, which is what I grew up on. I didn't know better...
until I tried King Arthur's. This baking malt actually works well with chocolate ice cream and half n half for a chocolate malt, its WOWZA good. We have tried fresh raspberries and raspberry syrup with this malt. We made regular vanilla malts too. They are ALL delicious. You should buy it. It's really good.

Truth is the Carnation tasted the most like what I remember malt flavor to be. I try not to support companies like Nestle though. CTL adds sucrose which I don't like when things are added by a factory. I wanted to like the King Arthur best, thinking that spending more would pay off, but I can't taste the difference and the cost is insanely high. So Hoosier gets my vote for good value and no weird ingredients. Just need to blend it well.

I did a blind taste test with a mixture of almond milk, half n half and chocolate syrup. I am just a dude, not a professional taste tester - someone with a more refined palatte could maybe detect nuances that I could not.
