Editorial Reviews
180 gram vinyl edition of Faith No More's 1995 album featuring Mr. Bungle guitarist Trey Spruance. Upon it's release, the album quickly reasserted that the band were still very much on top of their game.

Have this item on disc, but with the bonus material, had 2 get it on album. Mike patton is a God. Anything he touches is gold. I haven't played it yet but I know it is awesome. The artwork alone is kicking. It was a little pricey but will only go up in value. Really got it 4 extra tracks. I am a big fan of all patton recordings.

Music On Vinyl wins this issue. Warner Destroyed The Real Thing and Angel Dust. MOV brought Introduce Yourself into the sonic and perfect remaster it has been in need of since the beginning of the day it hit the streets. Album Of The Year is a step down in sonics and packaging, though I prefer single press, I hate flipping over every 4rd song. Original press was perfect and they phoned it in, which leaves us with Billy Gould stating the band had no say in the Warner presses, though not great, go buy them. I did! And the other presses too, which you are about to release via FNM control and approved presses l! So, I drop about 200 Jim Martin's to get my collection up to date and you are about to release bonus tracks which I've never heard so in perspective, the real fans take it 3 times since 86! It's not cool and I'm tired of the veiled cash in of Remasters, reissues and I'm about to revolt and buy not another thing. Zeppelin has hit melt down with the BBC reissues at 200 bones! The vault is never empty as Page's wallet is of lead, but FNM being amiss is not what I believed they were about and they are one of the best bands to ever come from our home, San Francisco Bay Area. Limited, pricey, a killer mix here. Stay away from Album Of The Year. It's dull and overpriced and half the quality of the double gatefold here.

The third of my FNM reissues, this is the album where the cracks started to show. Not only did they lose long-time guitarist Jim Martin starting here, but keyboardist Roddy Bottum had to be absent for most of the performances due to personal issues. The result was a harder edge album, but lacking the creativity of "
Angel Dust
" before it. Strangely, they replaced Martin with Mike Patton's buddy and
Mr. Bungle
guitarist Trey Spruance, but his performance here doesn't scream the uniqueness of Bungle. Out of the five albums they made for Slash/Warner Bros this one is my least favorite, but I like the album nonetheless. What makes this repurchase really worthy is the second bonus disc has a total of 12 B-Side tracks and an interview (be it the twenty-somethings sound too hard to say "they" got rid of Martin for the better, when that just wasn't true). Strange, there's a total of three versions of "Evidence" here (English, Spanish, and Portuguese{?}), plus two Bee-Gees and a (*gasp*) G.G. Allin cover, but also probably FNM's two best original songs never to be on an album, "I Won't Forget You" and "Hippie Jam Song", which are better than most of the tracks that made the record. I personally feel that they bounced back properly with the next one, 1997's "
Album Of The Year
", but this is one confused, yet hardest rocking chapter in the FNM saga. Just don't expect "
Epic
" here, it'll never come close.

I already loved this release and now it sounds even better. When I first heard the name Faith No More (I'm non religious)I was intrigued. Then I actually heard them and have followed them and Mike Patton ever since. As with many, my musical introduction was the song Epic. Then the full length, The Real Thing. I've always admired bands that just play what ever they feel at the time and to hell with pandering to an audience with interchangeable releases that just blur into a continious song. Redundant! Anyway, KFAD FFAL is all over the map musically and the musicianship is stepped up to the next several levels. Trey Spruance(Mr Bungle) steps in on guitar on this release and proves himself to be a very talented guitarist and a natural fit within FNM. Unfortunately, he did not stay with them for the tour. So, if you're looking for something without a standard format, here you go. You've got jazz laced 70's (Evidence), Reggae sun splashed rock (Just A Man), swinging, jazz rock(Star AD), Alt country blues(Take This Bottle), Heavy, progressive art rock(Ugly In The Morning) and aggressive, angry punk(Cuckoo For Caca). It's delightful and unpredictable ride.

Faith no More are a band that cannot and will not be tied down to one style of music.

I've loved this album since it came out. Faith no More has always made a wide range of music to their catalog. This album exemplifies that. Plus you get the two single EP'S on the last side of the second album. You'd be a fool not to pick this up.

FNM put out some really great albums prior to this one (ie The Real Thing and Angel Dust) This one originally got by me and I never really heard it back in the mid nineties when it originally came out. Thank God for cheap-a$$ used CDs from Amazon. This record is a real revelation. Mike Patton does it all: scream, sing, roar-amazingly versatile vocalist. And let's not talk about the bad-a$$ rhythm section led by ace drummer, Bill Gould (who also played for Ozzy Osbourne during his sabbatical from FNM). Fans of nineties rock buy it...I hear a lot of these so called 'alternative' stations who will only play the basic Nirvana and Pearl Jam stuff that was played to death back in the day. These hare brained program directors should reach deep into the annals of nineties rock and play the real sh**T, Knee GRwz

There's a good single album in here
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 30, 2016
With the main guitarist having left, I always found it hard to comprehend why this album seemed to over compensate by being so 'guitar heavy'.There's a good single album in here, but not enough quality material for the double album that was released. Less is more and all too often artists are loathed to cut two or three weaker tracks, at the expense of making a stronger album.

I was dubious of this album. I had thought that this album would suffer greatly from the lack of Jim Martin.
How wrong I was. It's a wonderful evolution from Faith No More. There has been no effort to imitate the style of Jim Martin. As a result you have an album that stands up by itself. It sits well within their discography whilst being simultaneously different from their other albums, but still being instantly recognisable as Faith No More at their finest.

Not their greatest outing but still a good album. Great that it has all the b sides from the singles of the time and sounds pretty good on vinyl. Takes me back to all those gigs in the 90's.

Its time for some honesty,i let faith no more slip me by,i have been a metal fan for about 17 years now,and of course i knew of the band,i admired their song epic but wasnt enough to make me buy their album and when the crappy cover of easy was released that was the end of any potential friendship or so i thought, yes i will always hate the cover of easy but i wont hold that against them after hearing this super class album.
Now this is an album that i believe helped kickstart so many bands and indeed the mathcore genre, the jazz influenced, lounge ballroom flavours along with strangled screams and solid rock and moments of metal all make for something more than interesting,oh yeah there is also country and western thrown in but its all good and thats no lie.
The album is a mix mash of sounds, styles and themes and there doesnt appear to be any flaws with this,im giving it four out of five, just to see how it pans out after 6 months. The album opens with the rocktastic stomper 'get out','ricochet' is anthemic.'evidence' is very soul based, 'cuckoo for caca' is pure screamcore and its no wonder from hearing this why mike patton did an ep with dillinger escape plan who are clearly influenced by faith no more.'Digging the grave' is a punky snappy number that is extremely memorable,'Take this bottle' is pure country and sounds alot like johnny cash.
I have listened to this album flat out for the past two days and im in shock at how good it is and when reading reviews from old fans of the band, something appears to me,that if they say this is poor compared to angel dust and the real thing, then crikey those albums must be class, i must get them readers.
