Heroine Nyssa is an enigma from the beginning. She's doomed by fate to live life after life, each ending too soon and tragically. I won't give away anymore on this point, spoilers! But it involves our hero Thanatos love for her. It's heartbreaking watching them torn apart time and again, and wondering how they'll ever find their happily ever after. It's not a story you easily see the ending too, which keeps you hooked and turning the page. This is where Ashlynn weaves an incredible tale, seamlessly moving through different time periods, each a story in itself, but tying them all together. Pure talent.
I can't wait to read more of the Lords of Time series!
Which brother will get his happy ending? Which will have the true love thats awaited him for years?
If you love reading mythology with romance and forbidden love? How about a ex-girlfriend who will turn your life to hell to get back at you? Grab King of Time. A love that is all consuming, even time and Fate herself can't stop.
Cleverly intertwining mythology with the emotions common to all: jealousy, love, spite, anger and even remorse, the author has managed to create a series of lives where Nyssa is used to taunt and cause dissention between the brothers. Full of twists and turns, the story keeps adding layers into the action that allow the individual gods encountered to live in the story as petty, vengeful and rather human feeling, beings. A new way of looking at the gods of myth, with a hope for a happily ever after.
From the first chapter I was hooked I could feel the deep sadness Thanatos felt at watching the one he loved die over and over again and every time was a tragic untimely death. The story was compelling and I wanted so badly for Thanatos to find his happily ever after and that kept me reading right on through the book and before I knew it the story was over. It was a beautiful love story full of obstacles, betrayal and most of all a pure deep love that transcended time.
