Bought this for my old Chromebook to replace the slow mechanical drive. No issues at all it's solidly built and works. Boots in 5 seconds now, not bad for a 2013 vintage machine! I wouldn't trust this in my primary PC just because it's cheap and small capacity, but to give your older laptop a cheap upgrade I can't fault it. So far it's lasted 2 months of daily usage and hasn't developed any errors. Honestly if it failed tomorrow I've got my $16 worth out of it.

Hey, Amazon readers, it's 18 months later and guess what, the drive still works! Still rocking the ancient Chromebook and it's used every day testing G Suite configurations for my job. Just ran a complete test and the drive has zero errors.

Lately, SSD storage is fast, and reliable, and big enough.
If you're not a software or file hoarder, this disk will provide sufficient space to host Windows, and some additional programs.

It's also fast enough, boot times of games and operating systems are low, which is what you want.
Any faster and it wouldn't really make any difference (can you feel a computer being faster when load times decrease by 10% from 11 seconds to 10 seconds, or from 3 seconds to 2,8?
No.
This disk is cheap enough, and does whatever I need it to do.
Is energy efficient as well!

I can't speak for longevity or for problems that other people have had. All I can say is that this HD is the best fit for my needs. I wanted a HD in a laptop that isn't for gaming or storing massive movies. Everywhere I looked locally people tried to sell me high capacity drives at 3-4 times the cost. This drive is fast, worked flawlessly with my computers bios, partitioned easily, and installed Linux Mint. The boot time is so fast I can't imagine a more expensive model beating it although I haven't ran any speed tests on it.

Great for the money however I purchased the 60 gig just for the OS. It's worth it to spend a little extra for a larger drive. I'm only giving 4 stars because when I installed the drive, the BIOS could see the drive but due to the way it was formatted when I received it, I couldn't install Windows 7 or 10. I had to format it (NTFS) before I could image it. Even with that being said, I will still be purchasing a few more.

Works great, Like a SSD should. Thought I could rejuvenate my old laptop for my daughter to use. WRONG, operating system opens lightning fast now but the old cpu can not handle any video editing. Owe well time for a new laptop. I would recommend this hard drive for an older laptop upgrade, if you have a i3 processor or higher without a SSD in it this will make your experience much more pleasant.

This brand has failed twice out of three times. It's really not that fast and many are defective. From now on I will pay a little more and get a name brand.
