What if all the members of the Body of Christ worked together--without personal agendas, without fear or competition, and without dispute? Kingdom Awakening testifies to the incredible benefits that come from such collaborative efforts. This is how the Body of Christ is supposed to function here on the earth and is really the only effective way to fulfill the Great Commission! Kingdom Awakening is the exciting sequel to the popular Kingdom Revolution! In this new volume, Kingdom Awakening creates and encourages unity and trust among ministries. Because we live in a desperate world, people need the love and leadership that the Kingdom of God provides. We need to not only preach to our cities, but love and serve our cities and community. You can be an important part of unifying the Body of Christ and expanding the Kingdom of God! Author Dr. Mattera is a successful city-reaching practitioner who teaches dynamic principles necessary to release the power of God's Kingdom on earth! As a theologian of the Kingdom, he reveals biblical insights of the awesome plan of God for the Church as well as lays out biblical blueprints for structuring civil law, apostolic movements, and contemporary Christian models of cultural engagement. As one of the most practical books ever written on the subject, this is a must read for thinking Christians, marketplace believers, emerging leaders, and pastors who want to transform their communities!

If you were asked to name 'five models of the kingdom' just what would be your response? Well Bishop Mattera has five responses in Appendix A, and I will give to you a few of his words and say to you (not my normal practice)to purchase this book and read the complete life attitude of Kingdom Awakening for and in your life.
The five models are 1. Christ against culture. 2. Christ of culture. 3. Christ above culture. 4. Christ transforming culture, and 5. Christ and culture in paradox.
Do you want to grow spiritually? Yes, a simple question. Well what is your answer? Well Bishop Mattera has written the guidebook with many scripture references to base all he was led to write. This book is just great.
A clear challenge for Church leaders to move in unity is sounded early on in the book with personal testimony illustrating the point. However, this call to unity is not lacking in definition. Dr. Mattera takes time to put a lot of flesh on this biblical concept that refuses to limit unity to the loss of distinctive - yet at the same time challenging the reader to examine what is truly motivating them in ministry. In a 'me' centred western world this a refreshing, thought provoking and has the potential to convict many leaders.
Although some of the political observations are not applicable to the British (I am based in the UK) or European context, the principles can still apply.
Whether or not you agree with all the observations and conclusions this book will cause you to ask questions. Questions that will hopefully inspire Christians to engage this world with message of the Kingdom, moving from abstract ideas into concrete actions.
The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that there is so much to digest the book could have had some guided questions or discussion points for groups to work with. Will a work book follow?
