About the Author

Ben professionally daydreams from his home in Utah, where he lives with his wife and four children. When he isn’t writing, he’s either thinking about writing, or he’s driving his wife insane talking about his novel ideas. Or doing home repairs. There always seems to be something broken. His work has appeared in two X-anthologies: “Kissed a Snake” in A Dash of Madness: a Thriller Anthology (July 2013), and “Fairykin” in Moments in Millennia: a Fantasy Anthology (January 2014). His first novel, Kingdom City: Resurrection was published in February 2014.

Kingdom City: Revolt drops you right into the middle of the revolution and is action packed from start to finish. It takes place six months after Resurrection. Paul and his officers are fighting against the palace guards, the Representative’s army of Cyborg soldiers. They are abducting citizens and forcing the resistance led by Paul, Valenti and the other resurrected officers to barricade themselves in a section of the city. Food and supplies are scarce and as the raids continue, Paul isn’t sure if he will be able to protect his city—let alone the rest of his family. The Whisper is Kingdom City’s only hope, but she is a prisoner of her own past.

What I loved most about this story is how each character’s struggle is shown. It didn’t just focus on one person, but gave you a look at several key characters. My favorite character is still Amber. She is clever, badass and her fight scenes are fun to read. I love how she never gives up. She is growing up to be the best of her mother and father – I get the feeling great things are ahead for her.

If you like cyborgs, you will LOVE these guys. They are the questions everyone has about what it would be like to be man AND machine – I don’t want to be spoilery, but hell TANK CYBORG … If you have ever read, ‘The Ship Who Sang,’ this character was a lot like that, but physically attached to a freaking tank!

Kingdom City: Revolt is the best in the series, so far :D Get your copy and join the revolut

I won a copy of this book, and while it was not my normal genre of choice - it is my daughter's who is a twenty year old college student. She raved about this writer and book - saying it had all the elements and was so well-written it should be a movie. She did say the violence and subject matter was definitely in the mature audience category but would recommend this for readers of this genre and felt that the author captured the thematic elements so well that the writing was some of the best she had ever read.

Kingdom city revolt is a book where the martial arts world meets Terminator. This book is an action packed Sci fi movie that helps demonstrate that the world is never truly black and white and that every choice we make, no matter how well intentioned, impacts many other lives. If you love a world where your superheroes are truly humanized (ie batman vs superman and marvel civil war, not the movies but the comics), then I highly recommend giving this book a chance. You won't regret it.
