Allison is a young woman who accidentally falls through a portal and finds herself in another world. It's a fantasy world of kingdoms with magic, good guys and truly evil demonic bad guys. She is a shy person who has been somehow gifted with magic powers that are beyond anything anyone has ever seen. People fear her because her powers have the potential of destroying their world.

Even though Allison has an excessive amount of mental anguish, I enjoyed the first part of the first book in the series. Unfortunately, by the third book the violence became painfully upsetting to read and Allison's situation became more and more unbearable. I read all three books in the series and the ending was a bit of a disappointment. The stories are well written but could have used a bit more editing because misspelled words kept cropping up that were like pot holes in a smooth road.

Don't get me wrong, it's a well written story. If you like fantasy, if you don't mind the violence and a great deal of mental angst, then you will find it an enjoyable read. It's just not my cup of tea.

Easy to identify with, the self talk of this young girl discovering a new realm on one bright sunny day at the park with her little sister, entering a dark spot in the earth, awakening in a kingdom where a prophecy claims she is the Golden Mage...
Under the pen following the imagination of Ms. Garcia, a new adventure called on me loud and clear.
There is so much wisdom in those pages amidst the epic adventures and the magical feasts. There is war and blood sheds, and there is also healing and mighty Druidic power.
Alone, the sceneries of nature evoked are guaranteed to stretch your imagination, and enter a dream world right where you are.

Loved reading about Allison's introduction to Lamia and its unique inhabitants as well as her blossoming relationship with Aidic, a mage.
While visiting a park in California with her sister Allison unexpectedly travels from Earth to Lamia through a portal. Aidic discovers her and brings her to the kingdom where she learns she is a mage and according to a prophecy will save or destroy this world. Faced with fear of the unknown, and insecurities Allison reluctantly accepts Aidic's help to guide her. Unfortunately not even Aidic, a very powerful mage knows everything Allison can do. Can't wait to read the next book. Received ARC for honest review.

I am not sure what to rate this book. It had some good parts to it but some annoying ones as well. The constant whining and emotional why me took away from the book. The author went out of her way to have different timekeeping between worlds, which was believable. But then they would share in common horses, mutton, and deer. I do feel a connection to Aidric but not Allison, she seems a weak, whining wild card. The I have A hard time believing the two characters have fallen in love so soon. The entire book just seems a little off.

I loved this book!! I was completely drawn into the story which was easy since I can sink myself into great writing, I found myself staying up late to read more of this book it was so hard to put down a real treat! I couldn't bare to spend time away from reading about Allison, and her relationship with Aidric, it kept me very interested throughout the whole story...the ending made me want to purchase the second book right away to continue the story. The world of Lamia was beautiful and the author helped you feel like you were there along with the characters through their feelings and interactions.I highly recommend reading this book along with the Author's other books, C.G. Garcia is on my must have list!

I loved the book, it captured my attention from the start. The characters were so real but so different from each other, that's why they fit together so well. Great job CG Garcia, can't wait for the next book.

This is an awesome 3 book series following the tale of the golden mage prophecy. Here in the first book, we have Allison literally transported from her life and world to a completely different world to fulfill a destiny. As she struggles to learn about the new culture and how to deal with suddenly being a powerful mage, she longs for home and her sister. Then there is the prophecy to contend with will she save the land she is learning to love or be the nightmare many fear and destroy it? Absolutely loved the series.
