I was asked to review this book, was a little confused given it is an established book, lots of reviews, most are great ones, and it was a new author for me, so I dug in not quite knowing what I would find.
Story started out interestingly enough, Natalie ends up running from a loveless marriage after 12 weeks when her husband hits her. Given she left a long term abusive relationship before her marriage, she wasn't going to stay in another one. Ends up that she was running from the abusive fiancé (Jonny) and changed her name before she got married to Aaron, who doesn't know her true identity. Now Natalie (Arianna), ends up in Las Vegas to be closer to her mother and best friend (Lottie), but still can't go back to the town she used to live in because of the abusive controlling fiancé. In comes Denham King, the owner of The Kingdom Hotel, where (Natalie (Arianna) is staying while trying to figure out her next steps. Denham is instantly taken with her, he's hot, sexy, caring, attentive and protective over Ari. Yes, it seemed a bit quick for them to fall head over heels with each other, but it works, and what can I say, I'm a hopeless romantic. So this where the story took off for me, at times it was a little confusing, like when Denham confronts Natalie (Arianna) on her true identity. He barely knew her, so why would he know to check her background? But what the story lacked in a couple of confusing parts, definitely made up in the story being told. Lottie is hysterical, and her relationship with Spike is going to be interesting to follow. The chemistry between Denham and Arianna is electrifying, sexy, endearing, hot, and downright steamy. At times you find yourself squirming in your seat, Denham just does that to you. You want these two to make it and you can't stop reading, just can't put it down until you get to the end. The final chapter had my mouth hit the floor! I was like Holy Hell, no way! When I got to the end, I immediately ordered book two so I can find out what happened. Few books do that to me, so this is definitely a book you should read. As I said in the beginning, this is a new author for me, but you better believe I will be reading more of her books!
This book continues with Denham and Arianna's challenging but very hot and sexy story. There were a lot of twists and turns in this book, had a lot of OMG moments, jaw hitting the floor and some pretty good suspense scenes. There were a couple of parts in the story where you just wanted to smack Arianna up along side the head with some of the decisions she made, but given she had been abused in her past, I guess some of her decisions were justified. I really love this couple together, the chemistry between the two just jumps right off the page at you. Lottie and Spike make more of an appearance in this book, loved the way they are together. James Ellis gave me the creeps, and when you find out who he really is its a holy crap moment.
Great addition to the series, well worth the read.
Wow, what an impactful story! I loved Lottie and Spikes story, filled with some really heavy emotional feelings but also has a message of hope for those people who are struck down with tragic events. Your heart bleeds for Lottie when Spike turns his back on her, thinking that he's setting her free so he isn't a burden to her. The journey takes her to London and I loved Torran, he's a big teddy bear kind of guy on the inside, big bad guy on the outside. The experiences that Lottie has in London makes her realize that she needs Spike in her life, doesn't matter at what level, she will take it. Spike also realized that he's pushed Lottie away, and the emotional journey he needs to go through to realize that he is a man and needs Lottie back. It's amazing what an adult can learn from a child, and that's exactly what happens to Spike. Darn book had me in tears at the end, loved everything about this book and series. Definitely worth the read!!!
I freaking loved this book! What a great addition to the Kingdom series. Tara's road trip was full of challenges, funny situations, a few twists, and definitely some very romantic heart pounding situations. Truly a page turner, finished it one sitting. Definitely should read the first three books in the series since characters from the first books are in this one. Truly a great book!
I voluntarily read all of these books!
