I bought this to go with a new custom built computer. Looked great out of the box. Lots of extra cables to go to anything you can think of. The cables were nice and log. Depending on your system this could be a hassle, for me it was excelent. My case was set up to run all of the cables behind the motherboard to hide them. I fully recomend this power supply.

I've had two of these specific units die in less than 6 months. The first one was a loud pop and black out, and the second was a quiet click with the same result. I sent the second LZ1000 in for RMA, and now Kingwin is saying they have no more and they want to replace it with a Mach 1 series, which I'm not happy about. I purchased a Mach 1 in 2009, and it lasted about 9 months (a loud pop, a little puff of smoke, and complete nothing --luckily no components were destroyed and no data was lost).

That's THREE KingWin power supplies I've had fail. These are 1000 watt power supplies in machines with only one video card, so it's not like I'm even remotely taxing them beyond their advertised capabilities.

What in the heck is going on with these awful power supplies?

Needless to say, I'm not very happy with KingWin. I replaced the LZ1000 with another brand when I sent the RMA in, intending to use the replacement they send in another build, but at this point I really don't think I want to gamble with my data and equipment, no matter WHAT kind of PSU they send (if it has the word KingWin on it, I don't want it).

[UPDATE 4/17/14] Try and find a KingWin PSU that isn't the Mach1 series online right now. Go ahead. I'll wait. Back already? Couldn't find a SINGLE available non Mach1 power supply from KingWin? Hmmm. Pretty fishy, huh? Is the company going under? Why aren't they supplying any retailers with PSU's? Why have they stopped making the Lazer series (bronze, gold, and platinum)? Better yet, why are they still listing all three versions and all wattages of the Lazer series on their website? You haven't been able to purchase one for more than FOUR MONTHS (judging from the banter on the boards).

I gave it 5 stars when I first bought it.. I am going to run some tests on the power supply to see how many watts I'm pulling on my system. I have four internal drives, 2 are plug-n-play removables. I have 2 dvd burners/ one have Blu-ray burning and dvd burning. Then I have an array of 4- USB2 and 1 USB3 external hard drives and my G510 Game keyboard and Mouse on USB.
I get some odd wireless issues. Oh and I have the HiWun HI-Gain wireless Ethernet for my D-Link Wireless 300mb router on the Motorola Version 3 Cable Modem that has a black hole bandwidth. But sometimes the bandwidth just hesitates and everything stares at each other then it refreshes and goes on like nothing happens. I'm go have a friend come over and watch it to make sure it's not me having a seizure.. Who knows... Anyway I want to see how witty the wattage is on the cable feeds, I want to balance it and make sure the wattage is as witty as me :)

This power supply is great! Went up from a Thermaltake 650 to this so I can bump up my GPU. Noticed a nice increase in stability, not sure if it helped getting my 14 case fans off my motherboard and onto the PSU itself or just the output of the unit itself. Could also hear my fans ramp up after installation, I don't mid the slight fan noise, I want higher performance. Blue LED lights match all my computer components perfect, and the white LED's are much softer than shown in the pictures. I thought the white LEd's would be too bright but they are nicely mellow if you want the white ones on. 8 fully interchangeable modular outlets with motherboard power and PCI-e power non-modular. There are also 2 4-pin molex (x4 outlets) cables, 2 SATA(x4 outlets) cables, and 4 PCIe(2x 6 pin and 2x 6+2 pin) cables for power included. One of he molex has a PWM fan connection on the end if you need it as well. I really love the nice sheathed cables too.

For the price, this is a great PSU. Its really awesome having the modular connections so your case isn't flooded with unnecessary cables.

Pros:
-Multi-colored LED switch for white, blue or off
-Modular with multiple adapters for various connections.
-High wattage (with 80 bronze + rating)
-SLI ready
-Wrapped cables
-Connections for almost any motherboard
-Low cost

Cons:
-not all wires are modular, so there is an extra cable or two unless you use a multi-processor system
-a bit larger, so it may not fit in certain configurations

Other notes
Apparently they make one with a red LED, i wish i had found it to match the rest of my system. It works great though.

Good modular design.
Lights are nice, although my case is windowless so I don't get to enjoy them much.

3-way sli works fine with this.

Edit: 3 months after purchasing it, it abruptly stopped working. I was baffled when everything on my power strip was on but my computer was non-responsive. After some testing I determined it was dead. Luckily I hadn't figured out what to do with my old PSU, so a quick swap and downgrade later, and I'm up and running again.
