Thank you to the reviewers in above who tested and posted their experiences with this dongle. It made my life a lot easier.
Aside from that, it does what it says on the tin (well, sort of). I don't use Bluetooth headphones with my PC any longer, so I can't comment on sound quality, but other devices (keyboards, cell phones, etc.) pair easily enough, don't drop connections, and appear to have the expected 30m range. Additionally, I've enjoyed Kinivo products I've used in the past and thought their build quality to be fair enough for the pricing.
This is the third desktop PC Bluetooth adapter I've owned. Over time, I've had to swap them out as the Bluetooth standard changes and devices improve. The first set of Bluetooth headphones I ever owned (despite being a rather uh, well-known brand) had horrendous audio quality and constant dropouts in the days of the older tech. I've been satisfied with the performance of the newer Bluetooth audio devices and the chips in my newer phones; I think we've really reached the point where 'cord cutting' headphones and data transfer between mobile/IoT/etc. is no longer an exercise in frustration (mostly).
Onto my issue: I purchased this dongle because it was Bluetooth 4.0 and says everywhere that it supports Low Energy or BLE. I use Windows Insider builds, and the 'Your Phone' app has been rolling out screen mirroring for Android devices. My phone is not compatible yet, but since it's a Pixel I imagined it was only a matter of time. The second requirement is a BLE capable adapter.
Well...the way Windows defines that and the marketing terms start to get a bit confusing there. As you can see from my screenshot, this does not support the BLE role, and is therefore not compatible. I imagine perhaps a BLE 4.1 or 4.2 device is required--unfortunately information is a bit slim as it seems most Windows Insiders able to use the feature are doing just fine with their Surface devices.
Also, if you visit the Broadcom website it assures you that there are no drivers required for Windows 10, it is indeed plug and play and you have Bluetooth. However, the drivers installed by default were version .750 from 2015. Windows Update didn't really do much about this, as much as it loves overwriting drivers for my other devices. The Windows Driver Catalog has version .1010 which are a full year newer and seem to offer a bit better performance, but I don't have any real metric of that. Updating drivers in this way (via extracting a .cab, installing a .inf, and manually loading them through Device Manager) isn't a major headache but probably not super intuitive for the average user.
TL;DR: Bluetooth Low Energy doesn't mean the same thing on a 4.0 device vs. 4.1 or 4.2. It appears some newer devices will begin to require 4.2 for full functionality, yet there doesn't seem to be much of a selection available at the moment. I wouldn't discourage you from buying this dongle if you need Bluetooth and it's not really a big expense anyway. It's just likely that you'll need something different before too long.

For my setup, I have full tower pc behind a plasma tv and am mostly using this to pair with a really cheap wireless headset (for chatting while gaming). It is working perfectly with the Kinivo (great sound, great signal, relatively painless setup). Decently fast shipping. Can't think of any cons.
In case, you are trying to decide between other products; here is some more info for reference:
1. Note: I will be using the smile.amazon.com links (proceeds towards non-profits of your choice). If you don't want to do that, just replace them with www.amazon.com.
2. My (admittedly cheap) BT headset is an "eForCity® Silver Bluetooth Headset". Amazon page - eForCity® Silver Bluetooth Headset
3. The first BT dongle that I tried (unsuccessfully) and had problems with was a SANOXY USB. IIRC, this was just using the basic Windows bluetooth drivers. Maybe it would have worked fine with a higher end headset... but since I was able to connect headset-to-phone without any sound issues, I'm blaming the drivers on the dongle. Amazon page - SANOXY® USB Bluetooth Wireless Adapter for HP, Gateway, eMachine, Dell or ANY Laptop/PC Running Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 200, XP, Vista & WINDOWS 7
4. The second BT dongle I had tried was the SoundBot SB340. This one had some CSR brand drivers but I also had a lot of problems getting my generic device to work correctly / not have horribly sound quality. Amazon page - SoundBot® SB340 Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter Universal Plug and Play Dongle Class 2 Transmitter (Newest Bluetooth Version Available) Ready Adapter w/ 3Mbps Data Transfer Rate and 10 meters Range, Compatible w/ Windows WIN8 WIN7 Vista 2003 XP 2000 Me 32/64 ...
5. I think I could connect and pair under both of the previous options, but I had a lot of problems with sound quality, particularly with white noise. No such problems with the Kinivo (I've already used it on Steam voice chat and my brother reported that I was coming in loud and clear). For the first 2 dongles, I had originally tried from my USB3.0 port which I later discovered USB3.0 can can interference problems with any wireless devices that use the 2.4GHz spectrum. I did try from my USB2.0 port as well, but no luck there either. The only major change since the first 2 is that I replaced my old 2', non-powered USB2 hub with a 6', powered USB2.0 so that it gets out from behind the TV better. This probably helps, but I believe my white noise problems on the other dongles were driver issues as I had also tested with the TV moved out of the way and clear LOS between the headset and the old dongles (and maybe 4-5' away) .
If it works this well for my el cheapo headset, I imagine that you would get even better results with higher end headsets.
disclaimer:
I am by no means an audiophile. I probably have a slight hearing problem (too much loud music lol). But I'm not deaf either and I am basing this not only off feedback via a recording app but also live chats with someone at the other end. Hope that helps!
Top reviews from other countries
It uses Broadcom bluetooth drivers, which is a good thing for future updates and wider compatibility,
It's small form factor, however I didn't say it's tiny,
Good performance, very low latency rate between devices while transmitting data.
Now the bad part-
It's built quality is cheap, like really cheap, as you could see from the other reviews. You won't believe the knock-off like plastic parts and the way they are being held together. It's like really poor use of glue and will come off without even any big force.
So I bought this for my laptop as my inbuilt Qualcomm Bluetooth chipset stopped working with my audio devices, there was noticeable lag and sudden freezes, though file transfer was working fine without any fuss. I use a Sony SRS X3 and Jaybird Freedom for listening music and only for that purpose I needed an external adapter and I bought this. As I said I didn't have any trouble performance wise and I was happy with that. I found about the build quality in the hard way when I went travelling. The adapter was plugged into my laptop and stowed safely in my Everki Concept backpack(which can hold upto 17' laptops, mine is just 15'. So there's plenty of space for protection) and put in the overhead bin. After I reached back home after the trip I took out my laptop and found out that the top half of the plastic part is gone, just broken off from the bottom. I thought maybe this happened due to some turbulence or something. And again I went on to another trip and when I returned and opened up my backpack everything broke bit by bit. I could see all of its parts came off. It was fortunate that all of the parts were still inside the bag, so I picked them up and put them back together without damaging the chip. And I stick them together with Instant Glue that I got for 5 bucks. Voila, it works again even though the top half is still missing.
I'd like to say that this was not the only dongle that was connected to the laptop the whole time, I had a Logitech receiver for the F710 Gamepad(3 Years) and another Belkin receiver for the M450 Wireless(2 Years) mouse both of them was plugged in along with the Kinivo Bluetooth adapter(5 Months). I've never taken out both of them during my trips. So, it's definitely the fail of the build quality.
Verdict will be that if you're planning to buy this, once you get it do a overall cover before actually using it with some instant glue to protect it. Or at the least do it with some tape and you will be safe. Or good luck taking it of during traveling and searching for it later on.

Practically every bluetooth dongle listed on Amazon uses Qualcomm's CSR8510A chip - with drivers last updated in 2012. Now, the date wouldn't be much of an issue if the damned chip worked with an Xbox One Controller - the latest one that has bluetooth built-in. I tried two different cheap models, and both struggled to get connected to the controller, and would NEVER reconnect - necessitating a full disconnect and re-pairing. Painful.
This dongle uses Broadcom's BCM20702 chip, and it works flawlessly with the Xbox One controller (with Windows' default drivers). I'm also using a Logitech K480 keyboard simultaneously and everything works A-OK. Connecting was fast, and everything reconnects in what feels like a second. This is ~4X as expensive, but that's totally worth it, because the alternative just doesn't work properly.
Ottimo come sempre il servizio Amazon.
Spent 2-3 hours on google regarding problem but no use.
Then I uninstalled all the Bluetooth drivers from the system (windows 7, 64 bit). Did multiple restarts. Cleaned the temp files. then plugged this adapter and installed drivers downloaded from kinivo website. After all this finally, this product works and now it is working like a charm. It connects to my Bluetooth speakers as soon as windows login screen comes. Completely hassle free now.
one star less due to initial problems faced in connection and music quality over this adapter is not superb but very good.
