Also, Hottie McCoffeehouse needs to be immortalized on the big screen, stat. I can't wait to see what other fun, flirty reading this author has to offer.
The story has its funny and quirky spots, but overall it's delightfully sweet, with a twist of playful naughtiness that avoids being trashy (it's actually refreshingly tasteful). I was so hooked by the perfect chemistry between main characters Rachel and Joe and the risks surrounding their relationship that I couldn't put the book down-I had to know what happened next...until I finished the book in 2 hours! :)
So even if romance novels don't typically float your boat, you may just find a refreshing change of pace in this light-hearted jaunt from cover to cover.
Life takes an abrupt turn on the first day of Rachel Sirianni's dream job and she has to rethink how she'll survive in New York City. As her life makes another turn when she takes a second job -- one she'd rather keep secret -- the story moves at a peppy pace and new dimensions of Rachel's character are revealed. Further complications occur when her night-job intersects with Joe Pavon, a man she refers to as Hottie McCoffeehouse. He's larger-than-life gorgeous. Living two lives weighs heavily on her as a relationship with Joe grows exponentially for both of them. However, both of them are keeping secrets that threaten the relationship and could explode it all apart.
Caught up in the story I didn't want to put down, I felt Rachel's pain, cheered for her pluckiness, felt like kicking Joe when he hurt her, and ended up crying for both of them. With detailed and gripping descriptions and well-crafted, witty dialogue, Samantha Anne tells a beautiful, sexy, and smart tale of living and loving large.
Joe Payon - her super hot hero emerges in both her 9-5 and part-time gig worlds. The latter, is pretty funny and in these evening exchanges, we get to see what Joe's intentions really are.
Samantha Anne does a fabulous job developing the relationship between the two while letting the reader get a glimpse of Joe's true feelings in a very funny and creative way. It's more than telling the story from Joe's point of view. I highly recommend "Kirby." It will have you laughing over and over!
