As with book one, this book contains crude humor, innuendo, and perhaps (in some ways) a bit stronger emphasis on fate, which I feel a little saddened by. But the star attraction of the show is the characters—the crazy group of friends who all care so much about one another despite their snarky ways of interacting and their various personalities. While book one focused on Paige and Bryce, this book invites you to get to know the rest of the group and their own trials, dreams, and schemes.
I enjoyed this behind-the-scenes look at the plot of Fate & Fortune, as well as the complete conclusion you don't quite get in book one alone. There's a particular scene near the end (not quite the last) that's especially delightful in terms of setting, romance, and friendship. As part two of a clever duology, Kismet & Karma is a charmer!
*With thanks to the author and Prism Book Tours for providing me with a complimentary e-copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.*
Now, you may be thinking that means this book is redundant, but it isn’t at all! Daniels does a great job giving a fresh perspective without going into too much depth in scenes that were featured in the first book (hence the reason you should read it first). It was so great to see what the rest of the gang was up to while fate was working its magic on Bryce and Paige!
If you loved the first one, you’ll adore this one!
The second book (Kismet & Karma) revealed exactly how Eric, Kennedy, and Genie schemed and brought their two friends together. More complicated dynamics are revealed, including a secret romance and unrequited crush. This book showed the story from several perspectives, all in first person POV, but I liked it because it really got me into the heads of the characters and helped me connect with them. I loved this creative YA duo of books and can't wait for more from the author!

How cute are these books?! SO cute. And what a clever idea by the author! I loved everything about this two part book series. The characters were so well defined and individual. Their personalities were strong and I felt like I knew each one of them. The whole story played out just like a movie in my head. I LOVE when that happens.
The first book is about Paige and Bryce and how they get together from their perspective.
BUT THEN, book two is about all the friends/siblings as they provide the back story of what was happening behind the scenes of book one. It's hilarious. There is so much going on in this book! It was all so fun and entertaining.
I'm so glad I didn't read the blurb for this book. After reading book one, I just jumped right in and I loved the surprise it brought me as it all unfolded.
Content: some mild innuendo, talk of sex and waiting in general terms, kissing
