There's no part of this book that did not connect with me. It truly was a joy to read a story such as this and i surprised myself, that's how good the author was in engaging her audience, as i typically prefer super rich alpha male strories. I enjoyed this one regardless of the lack of wealth on the hero's part! A good story of redemption and second chances and the author delivered on every aspect of the story!

MY GOSH I'M ON A ROLL!! This book was FANTASTIC from beginning to end. The story line was REALLY good but what got me was the character's. The heroine Ally and the hero Casper were fabulous characters. I have to say that Ally was my favorite. She said the most witty and funny things. I loved how her life was a mess and she just kept on going never really giving up. Casper on the other hand was the outcast. No one liked him or would give him a job. He was down on his luck, no money, no friends, nothing to look forwards too that is until Ally came into his life and made him feel alive again. The sex/love scenes were VERY sensuous getting a 5 star rating from me and that means they were SCORCHERS!
We get some good suspense too that added to the story. There were a few unanswered questions in the end making me hope and wish that Barbara would write a sequel.
All and all a VERY good read and I look forwards to trying more of her book's.
I just found out from Barbara that we do get another book and it is already released. It's called Girl Most Likely to and I've already loaded it to my Kindle, Happy Me! If this book sounds good to you, what are you waiting for? Click the button and get reading :-)
Ally is your typical Elsborg heroine--smart, but didn't go to college, attractive, good personality, glass half-full type of girl who allows people to walk over her to a certain extent. Unfortunately, someone doesn't like her and wants her dead. Lucky for Ally, she seems to have either extremely good luck or some mystical guardians watching over her so she keeps surviving her "accidents."
Caspar is the tortured hero. Son of an earl, gorgeous, smart, on the rise in his career with the Foreign Services (and secretly a spy) when tragedy and betrayal conspire to put him in an Albanian prison for 4 years. Upon his return to Derbyshire, England, he is the village pariah.
When Ally and Caspar meet, Caspar truly is in an unbearable situation: guilt over the death of his siser, the horrors of prison, career ruined, no friends, and no hope of pulling himself back on his feet. That is, until Ally steps in and takes him for who he is instead of what people want to believe he is and starts her campaign to make the village (and Caspar) see his true value.
With this premise, the book obviously had a good emotional foundation. The secrets are all secrets that are slowly revealed. For instance, when the reader and Ally first meet Caspar, we have no idea why he is such a pariah. We only learn when Ally first learns. And all the other details are revealed slowly.
In typical Elsborg fashion, we have the two characters instantly attracted to each other and moving faster with each other than they normally would. And there is the bit of suspense as we try to figure out who is trying to kill Ally, and why they want her dead. I woudl actualy give this book 4.Read more ›

I tried not to read the story in such a quick time. Sexual content is not to intense which helps, leaves more adventure to the story.Published on January 31, 2013 by natasha palmer
