Back to the mascara! When I first tried the mascara, I took off all my eye make up but the mascara was still on my eyelashes! That was when they really looked like eyelash extensions! I could not get the mascara off with the DHC olive oil remover, or any other remover that I have. I did not want to have inflamed eyes from rubbing so much, so I went ahead and ordered the kiss me heroine eye make up remover - the one I have has a sea green tube and a white lid. It works so great that I could easily remove the mascara by applying to the front and back of my eyelashes and gently moving my fingers from the base to the tip of my eyelashes. Then I use a cotton round moistened with warm water and brush that over the eyelashes firmly a few times, and the mascara comes off easily, like a miracle! I am so happy about the remover or I would not be able to use this mascara.
Also, the mascara I received has a pink tube with a dark gray or black lid with a little stars or something on it.
It also has a curved brush which I find it works very well.
This is the most incredible mascara I have ever used, and I have used everything from Dior Show to Too Faced better than sex, all the way to cover girl and Maybelline. I will never ever try any other mascara again! I understand why everybody is calling this the Holy Grail, and I have to agree!! Totally!!
Oh, one thing to remember is that the mascara dries quickly on your eyelashes, so therefore will dry quickly in the tube when the tube is open, so I put my finger over the end of the tube while applying mascara.
I was first introduced to this product in 2011 by my friend, a makeup fanatic/semi-freelance makeup artist, who was doing my makeup for a holiday party. When asked what is the best mascara she's ever used, she said this one without any hesitation. I didn't give it much thought until a couple months later, another unrelated friend with almost non-existent eyelashes (her words, not mine) raved to me on the same product. I still didn't give it much thought until I was online shopping and came across this product again and decided to give it a try. At the time, I was the noobest of noobs and didn't even own an eyelash curler. I, now shamefully, admit that when I first bought the mascara, I was not phased by it because my eyelashes were still stick-straight and it was a huge pain in all of arse-pains to take it off (thankfully, my mom had Lancome Bi-Facil makeup remover sitting around, which was a god-send).
One day, as I was reading something boring on my computer, I was unconsciously stroking my lashes upwards while I had the mascara on and low-and-behold, there was a slight curl and what surprised me was that it stayed like that for the rest of the day. I was ecstatic! A few months later (I know, I move along very slowly), I invested in an eyelash curler and applied the mascara - that same day, my friend asked me if I was wearing falsies (I have naturally long eyelashes) and I giggled with content at my new discovery. 5 years, 100+ level-up from noobness, and countless tubes later, I still love this product and use it regularly to this day.
1. Super duper wuper waterproof
Knowing none of my makeup will last while swimming along the beaches of Thailand, I still went out with a face full of makeup (because, you know, a girl's got to look good even for a second). The only survivor was this mascara, which did not budge or smudge a micro-millimetre and kept my eyelashes curled (not as much as when first applied, but still enough to make a difference).
2. Natural-looking and no clumping
My biggest nightmare is clumped spider lashes, no joke. I've been meaning to own an eyelash comb to better prepare for the disaster, but I never got around to it. This mascara doesn't clump at all but may stick a few eyelashes together if too much product is applied. However, this can be avoided and the results are super natural. This mascara makes my eyelashes perfect enough that people ask me if I was wearing fake lashes :3.
3. No residue or flaking after drying
Some mascaras I've tried are prone to flaking throughout the day either naturally or if you rub your eyes accidentally.
1. Difficult to take off unless with an effective makeup remover
You'll need a strong eye makeup remover for this (i.e. Lancome Bi-Facil, Banila & Co. Clean It Zero, effective cleansing oils).
If you're buying this product in-store, make sure you purchase the Long and Curl version - the Volume and Curl packaging looks very similar but works much less effectively.
