Kiss Me, Kill Me: A Novel of Suspense Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 1,564 ratings

Lucy Kincaid has firsthand experience dealing with deadly criminal predators, and she’s fully prepared to share her many talents with the FBI. But when her career plans are derailed, her boyfriend, security expert Sean Rogan, asks for help on his latest private investigation. Using her well-honed cyber-hunting skills, Lucy is soon on the trail of a missing teenage girl with a penchant for disappearing—and a shocking secret life.

FBI Agent Suzanne Madeaux is also tracking someone: a serial killer on the loose in New York City. Dubbed by the press the Cinderella Strangler, he cruises seamy underground sex parties, where drug-fueled women make for easy pickings. As Lucy and Sean’s desperate search collides with the FBI’s hunt, Lucy isn’t about to step aside. Haunted by painful memories of her own harrowing encounters with evil, she’s determined to keep any more innocents from meeting the fate she so narrowly escaped. Delving deep into the twisted psyche of a remorseless killer, Lucy must confront her own fears—even if it means risking a future job with the FBI and future happiness with Sean.

The latest in the Lucy Kincaid series. It would be helpful to read the earlier novels to get the back story, but the novel reads OK as a stand alone. It's a complex case set in the present time. Sean Rogan is a security specialist, and would not normally get involved in a missing person's case. In this case it is a 17 year old runaway who is a cousin of sorts. He does not really know her, but this is family, and his big brother has a strong commitment to family. Events lead Sean and Lucy into a murky world of Internet sex and wild Saturday parties of young adults where almost anything goes. Their paths cross with the FBI and the NYPD who are looking for a serial killer. The runaway, Kirsten, has gotten involved over her head in activities that have gone out of control. There is evidence she is linked to victims of the Cinderella Strangler, and now she is missing and Sean and Lucy are desperately trying to track her down.

The novel sidetracks at times into the romantic relationship between Sean and Lucy, but the main case will keep you up as you are drawn into the story. This is an author to keep on your watch list.

This is the second novel in the Lucy Kincaid story, and I would suggest reading them in or order. Lucy's love interest Sean and her brother Patrick are investigating the disappearance a teenage girl. The story revolves around the case and follows Lucy's story as well. The story is fast paced and suspenseful, but the ending was slightly predictable. I also am not a huge fan of the "perfect" heroine. While Lucy experienced tragedies in life she seems to overcome and excel at everything. The author ties in side-affects and issues that intertwine with those experiences, but they seem too staged, making the characters less real. I did enjoy it and will read the next book before deciding to continue.

As with all Allison Brennan's work, this story sweeps you in. Lucy Kincaid has worked for years to join the FBI and her plans are not going well. She is asked by her boyfriend, Security expert Sean Rogan to help track down a missing teenager, also a relative of his. The novel moves from DC to New York as Lucy and Sean track his cousin, they collide with a NY based FBI agent and police. Lucy must deal with her own dark past and deep torment, struggling with the growing relationship between her and Sean.

I always enjoy reading anything Ms. Brennan writes, her suspense keeps me turning pages and intrigued about what will happen next. Her characters are well developed and consistent. I fyou like a thriller suspense, with some romance, the Lucy Kincaid series is for you. I do find some of her work dark, but I believe that is her attention to detail and knowledge of the criminal world and the experts who solve these horrid crimes.

This book earned every single star. I am an avid Allison Brennan reader. I have been waiting and waiting for Lucy's trilogy to come out. Lucy's character is so unique. Allison Brennan broke the mold with Lucy when we first met her in FEAR NO EVIL. Brennan really created a hook to lure readers into wanting more of Lucy's character and to know more about her. When LOVE ME TO DEATH came out, I was so excited to read it. Don't get me wrong, it was good but not what I had built it up to be. It was because of that I was leery to get KISS ME, KILL ME. This book made everything better. This was the book I was waiting for. I absolutely loved it. It tied Lucy into a current crime that keeps you turning the pages. If you are a fan of Allison Brennan, do not miss this book. My only recommendation is to start it when you have time to read it from start to finish. I can't wait for the 3rd book of the trilogy.

What a book. This is my second book in the Lucy Kincaid series. Allison Brennan is an amazing author.
This book just makes you wanting more, a real page turner.
Sean asks for Lucy's help with his case, having faith in what she went through six years ago
knows Lucy can give her expertise with this case. He has all the faith in the world in her abilities. Patrick Lucy's
protective brother does think she should be on this case because what she went through. Sean disputes this and tells him
that Lucy knows how to talk with teenagers she is perfect to help in this case...he pushes her but helps her and
sticks by her side, protecting her by not doubting her instincts.
The special bond between Sean and Lucy is so touching. This first book Love is Murder is also very good.
You will not be disappointed....the twist and turns in this keeps you guessing who the Cinderella Strangler is.
It will surprise you...

Always enjoy a book by this author, I wish they would list books in their series order tho, I hate buying a book and it being a third or whatever in a series and not knowing. I had it at Kindle 77% but you still want to finish it. Gonna go on to her next one already loaded. Thanks for a relaxing day with a good book.I did edit this review and apologize if I gave the clue to anyone. I explained WHY I knew how it was, and there are a lot of people who will catch it on that one.

Allison Brennan keeps the series going with another nail-biting, suspenseful novel that is hard to put down. Once again, the psychological insight into these characters, both criminal and not, is extraordinary. I thought I knew who the killer was but I was wrong...which makes me happy. The story is not predictable and keeps you guessing. It's going to be fun to watch how Lucy develops, copes with her traumas and moves forward in life - realistically, with stumbles and problems. Very true to life. This one is another winner.

A good, fast paced read, like always, but actually Lucy Kincaid irritates me somewhat! Very unfair, I know, considering what she's been through but the way she was reeling off so much 'professional' profiling insight seemed pretty unrealistic.

Anyway, the story's good but I guess I prefer some of the other Kincaids. And to be honest, if I was interviewing for the FBI, I think I would place a big red flag against her name as well!
