This is my very favorite series and have reread every book several times.
Again,I was not disappointed by Sean and Maeve's story.Maeve was
aware of Sean O'Malley since he was a Alta boy,he was at time,oh so
angelic.Sean was always there to watch over and protect Maeve when
she gets herself into trouble. He claimed her as his own when she was
16 years old. When he went away for three years he still had his brother
keeping a eye on her.Maeve was impulsive and made some unwise
desicions which resulted with Sean saving and spankings her.Maeve
fought her attraction and tried to push him away but Sean had other
ideas.I loved Maeve's sassy, impulsive nature but she was no match
for Sean's heavy hand. This is a well written book with interesting
characters.Read and enjoy.
The age difference between Sean and Maeve is many years, and he will watch her in school, but keep his distance. She doesn’t realize it, but he has his brother, John, watching after her when he leaves for college. He will even rescue her from herself, more than once. His maturity is what balances her impetuous behavior.
“You’re in the safest place in the world, over your man’s knees where he’s about to show you how much you mean to him.”
“His Irish whirlwind had led him on a merry chase for months, and it felt good to have her dancing to his tune for a change.”
Sean will interview for a job in the states, and it will mean he and Maeve will be apart for a bit. She is supposed to be planning their wedding, but their mothers seem to take over. It isn’t easy having a mother who is so disrespectful to her father, and a soon-to-be mother-in-law who doesn’t like her. It will take Sean stepping in and taking charge, telling both mothers that it is Maeve’s wedding, and hers to plan. Will the bride get cold feet and try to run, even at the church?
“Please come and marry me, Maeve Murphy. I love you with all my heart, and to tell you the truth, I always have. I don’t think I can live without you.”
The plot will have the reader’s attention from the beginning to the end, and the pages turning. There is a great cast of secondary characters, and plenty of angst, action, and love. It also shows the differences in households with and without domestic discipline principles, as seen in the Murphy and O’Malley households.
The story will have you oohing, aahing, laughing out loud, and tearing up with emotions. I have loved Sean, Maeve, and their rambunctious children, and it was wonderful to have their story. This addition to the O’Malley clan could be read first or in any order. The love Sean shows Maeve is what true love match marriages are made of.
Once again Stevie MacFarlane gets it right, this book is entertaining keeps you interested and makes you wish you were part of this family!
