"At the heart of this wrong-side-of-town story are deftly drawn characters who understand that everyone has fears. Trentham layers the weight of family responsibilities throughout the well-paced story. The towns' competing festivals and quirky characters add humor and link the other romances in the series." Publisher's Weekly
"The residents of Cottonbloom will steal your heart! You'll never want to leave!" 5 stars Red's Romance Reviews

Everything Cade has done has been for his younger brother and sister, even when that meant leaving them. He never told anyone the real reason he left not even Monroe and he always felt he could tell her everything. Having Monroe as a friend was like a soothing balm on his crappy life but he couldn't admit why he was leaving. But leaving was the best thing he could do for himself on his own he was able to make a name of himself and finally had a break in life and became wealthy.
Monroe always thought of Cade as her knight, he was there when she needed him the most and she could tell him anything, except how she truly felt about him. Ever since that night when she was thirteen Cade has always been her constant, until he wasn't. He left with out saying goodbye and all the sudden Monroe had to figure out how to live with out him. She moved on and learned to defend herself against the things she was afraid of.
Now Cade is back and he's facing all the old prejudices he faced when he was a kids and now he's got to mend his relationship with his family, the town, and most importantly find out if he could ever have Monroe love him like he's always loved her.
Overall it was an easy going romance with some pretty funny dialogue and some really sweet romance.
Monroe is a physical therapist and she's helping Cade with his injuries. He didn't expect seeing her again would release so many feelings inside him, both old and new. It's scary and he is surprised by the intensity. Monroe is a lot tougher than she was back then, but her softer side remains. She loved Cade when she was younger and she never found someone who came even close to him. Cade is passionate, loyal and fiercely protective. He works in Seattle though and isn't in Cottonbloom to stay. He doesn't really want to leave, but there's a flourishing business for him to go back to. Will he and Monroe get the chance to discover if there's something special between them or will Monroe's heart be broken all over again?
Kiss Me That Way is a wonderful romantic story about two people who come from different backgrounds, but found each other because of their difficult childhoods. Monroe and Cade needed friendship and someone to confide in and they were lucky to have such a special connection. Now that Cade is back in Cottonbloom they meet again and there's a lot of chemistry between them. They have a great and deep connection that's more than friendship and love alone. Laura Trentham describes that bond in a beautiful way. There's so much tenderness and understanding and the tension between them only intensifies that. It's all about trust and daring to be vulnerable, which results in a strong story.
Cottonbloom is a fantastic setting. I loved Laura Trentham's descriptions of the colorful town, the two rivaling sides and the beauty of the place. I liked the history of the people mixed with the fantastic small town atmosphere. It made me fall in love with this story straight away. I enjoyed reading this book very much and am happy it's the first part of a series as I can't wait to read more about the inhabitants of this lovely town.
KISS ME THAT WAY is a wonderful beginning. The storyline is engaging and fast-paced, the characters are realistic and pull you into their lives. The setting is one I'd love to visit! It may be fictional but it doesn't feel that way. KISS ME THAT WAY is a second chance at love kinda story, I say kinda because they really weren't "in love" the first time around but it still fits that type of story. Cade and Monroe were part of each other's lives but too young to be "in love" or at least Cade thought Monroe was too young. I loved watching these two reconnect, watching Cade come to terms with his past and recapture the family he had. I also really liked how the author give Monroe a chance to face her demons and to overcome them. Overall this was one of those stories that you really hate to leave. I wanted to visit with Cade and Monroe and the rest of CottonBloom some more. I loved the town. I want to see a map! I want to visit! Fans of small town contemporary romances will find this one to be perfect. I highly recommend KISS ME THAT WAY to all! You'll be so glad you read this one. Be warned once you find your way to Cottonbloom you aren't going to want to leave! So glad these books are being released so close together. So don't worry once you read KISS ME THAT WAY you won't have to wait long for the next two stories.
