Bruce and Andi are both smartass, lovable characters. When these two meet, the tension between them is instantly charged with sexual energy. After Bruce screws up Andie’s case, in a way that is quite embarrassing to him, he’s forced to work alongside her. Being cops, they understand each other in ways others never could. How the fear, the adrenaline, and the fall after the excitement affects your day to day living and makes you wary of relationships. Especially with other cops.
But their attraction is undeniable and unstoppable. By the time these two get between the sheets, they are completely hot for one another. Both want it to mean nothing, but know it means more. So much more. From beginning to end, this book is filled with wit, excitement, and undeniable love. The supporting cast of family and friends make the book even better. The epilogue is especially endearing. Now I’m off to read the rest of the books.
Wonderful deal, too!
This novel had a number of plot twists and turns and the unexpected lay just around the corner. The author tackled the complex issue of surrogacy with its' highs and lows. There are also secrets that have the potential to spoil everything. Ms. Barbour gives the reader a glimpse into the South American life-style with its' intriguing customs and family dynamics. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel.
Ms. Reeves has left us with a fine understanding of how policemen/women not only work, but how they think and feel. She delivers her story with adroit skill, the humor finely tuned, right along with the romantic interest and the pitfalls of the job.
This story brings enough heat to live up to its romantic standards, and enough development of secondary characters to make you feel at home between the pages.
It gives the reader an excellent blend of all the elements, one expects in a RomCom, all balanced with precision by this very talented author.
