Kiss off is the fifth novel in the Kiss Talent Agency and it can be read as stand-alone. In this book, we have our heroine, Kara, who used to be a singer with a promising career, but for some unknown reason disappeared from the face of the earth. Early in the book, we find out that her manager was pressuring her to do things that she didn't want (no sexual abuse or something similar), she decided to leave the business for her own good and dislikes, to put it mildly anything to do with what she left behind. The hero, Declan, is a manager and everything Kara hates. After burning both ends of the candle, he was forced to take a vacation and that's where he meets Kara which was under some very weird circumstances. They hit off and the rest is for you to find out when you read the book. Overall, I got the feeling that if this book was a movie, it would be one that comes at summer and is light and easy for most of its length, but then the drama hits and everything goes bad. The kind where you have new adults trying to find themselves, which is fitting to the material of this story. Declan is forced to take a step back from all the work he does and find a way to spend time and heal, while Kara is off doing crazy stuff and honestly, running from the past. Kiss off is a story that I would recommend if you are looking for a light and good book.

OMG I loved this story line between Declan and Kara and how they got together her running from her life as a singer and a bad manager and Declan finding her after he thought she was hurt but it was a TV show they went on a road trip and fell in love and wound up in Key West and she found out that he has a talent angency and she was scared to put her self out there and in the end Declan represents her and get to marry her to Thanks for an amazing book and Virna is an amazing author

Kara was once a very well known country star but she gave it all up. Now she lives a very different lifestyle than before. Kara runs into Declan on the beach and you can immediately see the chemistry from the both of them. Declan was sent away from his job by his family to get his life together. Declan never thought he wouldn’t really miss his job but with Kara he can just be Declan. When the truth surfaces about who really Declan is will Kara stay or will she run?

I was drawn into this story from the very beginning. I loved the overall premise to this story. I loved seeing how Kara’s character became stronger and stronger with each turning page. Also the heat and chemistry between them was scorching!!! I believed that they both had some soul searching to do and they had to ultimately decide what they wanted out of their lives.

While this is a great addition to the Kiss Talent Agency series, it can definitely be read as a stand alone novel. In fact, since the story is almost entirely Declan and Kara, you don't even realize its part of a series. This was a very enjoyable story with one of the best first meet scenes that I have ever read. Declan thinks he is rescuing her from an attacker, only to find out she is streaming a Law and Order episode on her phone! Kara is hiding her real identity from Declan and the world but then she isn't sure that he loves her for herself or her stardom considering he is a talent manager. But once she figures it out, has she ruined her chance for love? Virna DePaul has once again written a great romantic story that immediately pulled me in and I look forward to more from this author.

A sweet but emotional story

This is the story of Kara, a former country music star who is hiding from her former life, and Declan, a entertainment manager on a forced vacation. Declan is a workaholic who landed himself in the hospital with dehydration and exhaustion, taking a few weeks to decompress at a friend's beach house. He spots Kara walking on the beach one night and is immediately taken with her. Kara and Declan hook up without really knowing much about one another but quickly come to care about each other Declan figures out Kara's true identity, but is afraid to tell her who he really is, lest she think he is only interested in her to revive her career. The story has lots of emotional ups and downs, with an eventual HEA. It was an enjoyable read that I would recommend.

Kara and Declan start out as just a fling. No last names, no history, just two people bumming around the state of FL for a few days enjoying each other.

When the real world intrudes and Kara realizes who Declan is, she runs again, blaming him for keeping secrets from her.....even though she kept them from him as well.

It takes going home for Kara to finally come to terms with what she's been doing for the last 5 years....and realizing Declan was right about her hiding from herself; for her to finally take the steps to get past that and grab onto all the things she loves in life; herself, her music and Declan.

I loved Kara and Declan. She was running/hiding and he needs to relax because he is making himself sick with exhaustion. I love that he goes along on an adventure with her. I loved when they performed together. I love that when his brother called him about the band he didn't want to hurt her by working with her major jerk of ex. Virna writes characters that you wish you knew in real life. They are so full of life. Will she handle the truth of she realizes he knows who she is and will she handle what his job is. YES YES YES...read this awesome book.

Both successful in their careers they have succumbed to the stress and seek escape. Kara has been running for five years, away from a controlling agent, and enjoying her life. Declan has been working himself to the bone when his brothers forced him to vacation. A chance meeting has these two experiencing life and love together. It's hot, sassy, and sweet. I liked Kara's personality and Declan's relaxed new vibe. I received an early copy, review voluntarily written.
