From the Inside Flap
I snorted. "Right. I'm sure a half-breed child of a trick-turning stewardess is super royal."
Eric pulled back to look down at me, but there was no joke in his eyes. "You know I don't like it when you talk about yourself like that."
"Is any of it untrue?" My words were unnecessarily sharp. Maybe it was because I hadn't quite come to terms with them myself. After all, I had liked being the daughter of a mild-mannered psychologist and an esthetician.
Be honest, Jane Brain. You never felt quite right in that life anyway.
I sighed. Dad was right even if he was a product of my imagination. I had always felt a little out of place in Chicago. Hell, everywhere. Maybe now I knew why.
"There are a lot of ways to command people," Eric said. He reached down and took my hand, then slowly pulled off my glove, one finger at a time. "You do it better than anyone I know. You sure command me, gorgeous."
"Stop," I whispered. Don't stop.
"It's true," he murmured as his thumb brushed over my knuckles, lingering over my bare ring finger. "I might have the pedigree, Jane, but you're the one who's royal."

First, it had a strike against it because I hate cliffhangers, and felt that the blurb should have warned me.
Second, I hate stereotyping anyone, and this just did it for me. The h was flighty, dumb, and so stereotyped that I actually cringed every time she spoke. Even if she didn't speak the language, she came off as a total dip with sand for brains for most of the time, following along behind the supposed H, and disagreeing with everyone and everything. No no no. I want a plot that doesn't take coffee breaks, characters that are strong, WOMEN that are strong and don't run away from things they don't like (try writing someone who stands up to their problems).
I bought all 3 books because there was a HUGE potential of a great story there. HUGE. It just never played out the way it should have.
Are they married, or not? Where is Eric? These are the questions that plague Jane after Eric ups and leaves their wedding, disappearing for a time. When he finally returns, he is a changed man. Gone is the man who looked at her heatedly, lovingly. He is cold and dismissive, not willing to divulge where he was.
But Jane’s stubborn and willful nature will not accept that the real Eric isn’t waiting below the surface of the man who returned. She will do whatever it takes to get her Eric back.
Jane’s tenacity in the face of Eric’s newfound nervousness and caution lead to some secrets being revealed, while others still remain in shadow.
Jane and Eric have to work as a team to get to the bottom of what John Carson and Janus are really after. But with Carson throwing up roadblocks at every turn, their relationship balances on a knife’s edge. To keep one another safe, they have to remain apart. Or do they?
